Can you believe it… we are at our Season 6 finale! In today’s episode, Bernadette and I share with you our ANTI GOALS as we start planning for 2024.   That means we share with you the what and the how we will stop doing things that suck energy out of us. It’s an annual practice that I came across and wanted to try in 2024 vs the standard “new years resolution.” Can you relate? We also added a twist into today’s episode to make it fun and give YOU some insight into mine and Bernadette’s lives… We both answered random questions from an interview deck, which was so fun to do! If you like this episode or better yet, if you found value out of this season and want to hear MORE from us next year, please leave us a review and let us know. We take your feedback seriously. We did it! After five years of painstakingly managing our budget, growing our income, and paying down $300,000 of debt, my husband and I reached a goal I thought would take us at least another decade. We hit our FIRE number. This means we have enough money in investments to become work-optional, according to the calculation traditionally used by the FIRE (Financial Independence, Relax Early) movement. For us, our FIRE number equates to $900,000, which will generate enough income to cover basic living expenses of about $3,000 per month. If you’re working toward financial independence, you should know that you will get there if you stay committed to your goals and investing strategy—even if you mess up a few times along the way, like I did. You should also know what happens next. In this episode, I share four unexpected things my husband and I are doing now that we’ve hit our FIRE number. It’s the last episode of the podcast! I’m so grateful to you  for listening to this season of the podcast. I hope to see you on social media and at the Crush Your Money Goals bootcamp! This episode was a huge milestone for me. It was the first time I got on stage in front of 1,500 OTHER personal finance experts to school them about… money. I have never been so nervous in my life! But here’s feedback I got from one of my favorite podcast hosts: “Oh my god @bernadebtjoy inject this energy in my veins!!! This woman’s talk just straight up changed my wife’s life. I cannot wait to see this growth and FLOW! Forever grateful.” -Justin Brown-Woods, Co-host of Price of Avocado Toast Listen in to the 4 truths about your money goals (that even money experts needed to hear) I’m doing a YouTube Premiere of the full video from FinCon tonight at 8PM ET! I learned that if I completely deprived myself of everything I enjoyed spending my money on, staying on my debt-free journey to millionaire status was not going to last very long.    Finding the balance between living your best life and paying down soul-sucking debt like student loans is personal, but these three spending rules helped avoid the spending shame spirals and encouraged me to pay down debt faster.   Bernadette Joy (@bernadebtjoy) is the founder of Crush Your Money Goals®, an academy that helps burned out professionals build their escape plans to financial independence, the same way she paid of $300K of debt and became a millionaire in her thirties.   Want 30 resources to start crushing your money goals?
