The notion of a "perfect mom" is not only an impossible stereotype, it's a tragic impediment to the confidence and well-being of many mothers today. On this edition of Family Talk, Christian comedian Sally Baucke (pronounced Bowe-key) shares hilarious personal anecdotes as she addresses the emotional strain that unrealistic expectations have on mothers. She encourages them to fully embrace the craziness of child rearing and to remember that their godly calling is to "mold" their kids according to trustworthy biblical principles.
On today’s edition of Family Talk, the Hon. Michele Bachmann concludes her fascinating discussion with Dr. Byron Johnson, author of More God, Less Crime: Why Faith Matters and How It Could Matter More. Together, Dr. Johnson and Michele talk about the remarkable effects that faith-based programs have on those who are incarcerated, and the transformation it brings to their identity and purpose for life. Dr. Johnson has also done extensive research that shows the undeniable results that a Christian worldview has on mainstream society and in our daily lives. You might be shocked to learn that his findings point to the antithesis of the enemy’s lies.
Blackballed for his faith early in his academic career, Dr. Byron Johnson, author of More God, Less Crime, did not shy away or stand down from his outspoken Christian worldview. On today’s edition of Family Talk, the Hon. Michele Bachmann talks with Dr. Johnson about his time as a university professor on secular campuses. Even in the face of such discrimination against people of faith, God blessed Dr. Johnson’s earnest research which culminated in his meteoric rise in the world of academia. The words of the Bible will not be silenced!
Today on Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson concludes his riveting discussion with Black Hawk Down hero, Jeff Struecker about his book, The Road to Unafraid, and his experiences as a U.S. Army Major and Chaplain. As Americans, we must remember that brave soldiers ran through bullets and gunfire because they loved their brothers in arms more than they loved their own lives. “Let us not forget,” Jeff said, “Our freedom is very cheap if it wasn’t for that kind of love!”
Philippians 4:7 says, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” It’s one thing to read these words of the Bible, but another to believe them in the midst of war and facing imminent death. On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson talks with retired Major and Chaplain, Jeff Struecker about his 22-year career in the U.S. Army. You’ll hear of Jeff’s first encounter with Jesus, through the intentional outreach of his neighbors, and how God then led him to fight bravely for this country. On this special Memorial Day program, Chaplain Struecker gives God all the glory for the supernatural peace he experienced on the battlefields as a survivor of “Black Hawk Down.”
On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson concludes his bold and dynamic conversation with Dr. Joe McIlhaney, author and a board-certified OB/GYN. Dr. McIlhaney shares the horrifying curriculum being taught under the banner of comprehensive sex education, and explains the unthinkable price society is paying because we have believed the lies of the enemy instead of following the principles of the Bible. Romans 1:21 says, “For although they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks to Him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.” Do not shy away from your God-given responsibilities as a parent!
The Bible is clear, God designed sex for the married couple, and He meant for it to be between one man and one woman. Today on Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson discusses the devastating physical, emotional, and spiritual consequences of casual sex with Dr. Joe McIlhaney, a board-certified OB/GYN, and the co-author of Hooked: The Brain Science on How Casual Sex Affects Human Development.
It’s hard to remember a time when we didn’t have to worry about what our children were being subjected to in schools, or what they might see as they are browsing the Internet. On today’s classic edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson speaks with author Rebecca Hagelin as they discuss the daily battle parents face in protecting the innocence of their children. We must wake up and stop the busyness of life. Nothing shows our kids that we love them more than taking time to give them boundaries based on God’s Truth.
On today’s edition of Family Talk, you’ll hear the conclusion of Mary Crowley’s spirited presentation about the undying love of God, and the many trials that the Lord brought her through. Would abortion happen if we took our own selfishness out of the picture? Regardless of how a child is conceived, that human being deserves to have a chance at life. Today, on Family Talk, Roger Marsh interviews Ryan Bomberger, co-founder of The Radiance Foundation, about the God-sized miracles he has witnessed within his own life, having been conceived in rape. Psalms 34:4-5 says, “I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.” Discover the divine appointments that can be met when we allow God to step in and take control.
On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson concludes his enlightening discussion with Dr. Bruce Wilkinson as he shares stories and lessons on stewardship from his book, The God Pocket. Proverbs 19:17 says, “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward them for what they have done.”
Did you know that one of the topics Jesus spoke about most in the Bible was money? On today’s edition of Family Talk, Dr. James Dobson welcomes Dr. Bruce Wilkinson to the program to discuss his book entitled The God Pocket. Luke 21:3-4 says, “‘Truly I tell you,’ He said, ‘this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.’”
On today’s edition of Family Talk, Gary Bauer concludes his compelling discussion with Terry Schilling, president of American Principles Project. Terry shares what they are doing to defend the American family, and urges us to wake up and heed the warnings foretold in the Bible. If we take God out of the equation, chaos ensues. Romans 1:28-29 says, “Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice.”
When we take a good look at how our society is changing for the worse, it’s easy to see the institutions of marriage and the family crumbling before our eyes. But what can be done about it? On today’s edition of Family Talk, Gary Bauer talks with Terry Schilling, president of American Principles Project, about his organization, and their passionate commitment to defend and advocate for the American family. We must wake up and fight to keep the principles that were established and set forth in the Bible!
