The Browns beefed up the trenches on Friday night in the NFL Draft, staying put in their original spots and picking defensive tackle Michael Hall Jr. at No. 54 and guard Zak Zinter at No. 85. At the end of the night, Mary Kay Cabot, Ashley Bastock and Dan Labbe discussed the picks the Browns made and cleveland.com's draft expert Tim Bielik offered his quick analysis of both picks. They discuss the decision to stick and pick Hall instead of taking the offers that were available to them to trade out of the 54th pick. Then they get into the not-so-pleasant connection Hall and Zinter have and how bizarre it is before they discuss Zinter's future role and what it means for Joel Bitonio and Wyatt Teller. The Browns, once again, didn't have a first-round pick in the NFL Draft, making for a quiet Thursday night for the team and fans. There was plenty happening league-wide, though, and Mary Kay Cabot, Ashley Bastock and Dan Labbe reacted to what they watched in Round 1. Then they looked ahead to Friday when the Browns will go on the clock at No. 54 overall. They lay out what they think Andrew Berry should do with his two picks on Friday night and how the Browns should approach Day 2 of the draft. We were Voted best podcast by Cleveland Magazine readers! The NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday night and we're getting you ready with a full first round mock draft. For the third year in a row, the Orange and Brown Talk and Buckeye Talk crews got together and made every pick in the first round. Nathan Baird, Tim Bielik, Andrew Gillis, Dan Labbe, Stephen Means and Jimmy Watkins were all assigned teams and they worked their way through the first 32 picks, making trades and filling needs along the way. While the first pick was a no-brainer, things got interesting after that and included discussions on Justin Fields in Pittsburgh and which Buckeyes player could be the first to go in their class next year. The Browns will kick off their last of three straight years without a first-round pick this week, going on the clock on Friday night in the second round. They don't have as much draft capital to work with this year as in years past, so there are plenty of options on the table for GM Andrew Berry in his fifth draft. Mary Kay Cabot, Ashley Bastock and Dan Labbe look ahead to this week's draft by making predictions for the Browns. What will they do with their first pick? Could they take a quarterback? What about those two seventh rounders? Check out their predictions on Monday's Orange and Brown Talk Podcast. We were Voted best podcast by Cleveland Magazine readers! Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is attempting to come back from an injury this season and has played in just 12 games in two seasons since the Browns acquired him. Is this the year he returns to the elite level the Browns hoped for when they acquired him? Will he at least be a Top 10 quarterback? Mary Kay Cabot and Dan Labbe start a Hey, Mary Kay! edition of the Orange and Brown Talk Podcast by answering those questions about Watson before answering another about what it would actually take for the Browns to decide to move on from Watson. Then they answer a question about the Browns record next season and discuss a couple of draft questions about what positions the Browns value in the draft and if linebacker and defensive tackle are in play.
