In a world filled with noise and chaos, finding peace can seem like an impossible task. But what if the key to inner calm lies not in our own efforts, but in a humble dependence on something greater? Guest Preacher Johan Verster from LIGpunt church in South Africa joins us this morning. Join us on this journey as we delve into Psalm 131, a timeless prayer penned by King David. In this thought-provoking video, we explore the profound wisdom embedded in David's words and how they offer a timeless remedy for the anxiety that plagues so many of us today. __________ If you're new let us know in the comments/chat & visit https://www.covenantdoylestown.org to learn more about us and how you can get connected. What does the Bible say about work? Should we quite quit if work gets too rough? Does God want us to participate in work reform? What if my job is my identity? What if I don't find meaning in work? Guess what? The God created work to be a good, valuable, and rewarding thing, but we live in a broken world where we can be consumed by workaholism or chewed up and spit out and left with the feeling that work is not valuable. What if our job is legitimately treating us unfairly? As believers in Jesus our role is to be renewed by Jesus and to help reform our relationship with work and those around us even in the tough situations. Guest Preacher Jim Angher from Liberti Church in Collingswood, NJ joins us this morning. __________ If you're new let us know in the comments/chat & visit https://www.covenantdoylestown.org to learn more about us and how you can get connected. Why would the writers of the gospels include embarrassing details, accounts from people who, in their time, people wouldn't want to listen too?
Barrabas was exchanged in Jesus' place. The perfect one changed for a murderer and insurrectionist. Let's explore the deeper connections to the larger narrative of scripture this morning as Paster Steve continues in our Lent series into Holy Week this Easter.
This week we look at Peter who denied Jesus three times the night he was sentenced to death. What does that mean for Gospel authenticity and for us?
Who was Pontius Pilate? Why did he have authority? Does symbolically washing your hands of a situation make you innocent? Join us as we continue our countdown to Easter as we explore Jesus' final day and the key people in his final moments before his crucifixion.
Being called "Judas" is a common term in our society when someone betrays us, switches teams, sells out their friends, etc. But There's a lot more to Jesus and Judas' relationship. Jesus knew of Judas' betrayal beforehand but still included him among the disciples. What do you think this reveals about Jesus' attitude toward forgiveness and acceptance? How does this challenge our own attitudes toward those who have wronged us? Let's explore some of that this morning.
We conclude the REACH series this week by exploring how God prepared for us in advance to be a part of what He is going to do in the world. 🙏 If you would like some prayer please reach out, we would love to pray with you. https://www.covenantdoylestown.org/prayer 🚗 Join us In-Person: https://www.covenantdoylestown.org/visit/ 🔴 Our broadcasts will start at 8:55am & 10:40am every Sunday. 📖 Read Along: Exodus 36:2-7 2 And Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab and every craftsman in whose mind the Lord had put skill, everyone whose heart stirred him up to come to do the work. 3 And they received from Moses all the contribution that the people of Israel had brought for doing the work on the sanctuary. They still kept bringing him freewill offerings every morning, 4 so that all the craftsmen who were doing every sort of task on the sanctuary came, each from the task that he was doing, 5 and said to Moses, “The people bring much more than enough for doing the work that the Lord has commanded us to do.” 6 So Moses gave command, and word was proclaimed throughout the camp, “Let no man or woman do anything more for the contribution for the sanctuary.” So the people were restrained from bringing, 7 for the material they had was sufficient to do all the work, and more. Ephesians 2:17-22 17 And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near. 18 For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. 19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens,[d] but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. 22 In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.
What is the fruit of generosity? How does God empower generosity? How does being generous change us? How do it change our world? Come learn with us in this penultimate sermon in the REACH series. Download the REACH book/card: https://www.covenantdoylestown.org/reach/ Read Along: 2 Corinthians 9:10-15 10 He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. 12 For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God. 13 By their approval of this service, they[f] will glorify God because of your submission that comes from your confession of the gospel of Christ, and the generosity of your contribution for them and for all others, 14 while they long for you and pray for you, because of the surpassing grace of God upon you. 15 Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift! Our broadcasts will start at 8:55am & 10:40am every Sunday.
Steve continues in the REACH series by looking at 2 Corinthians 9:6-9 and how God loves a cheerful giver and sower! 2 Corinthians 9:6-9 6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written: “They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.”
What is at the heart of generosity? Spoiler alert: Its the Gospel! This week our special guest Bob Thune joins us from Nebraska to dive into 1 Corinthians 8:8-15 to look at how the Gospel of Jesus is the starting point for being generous and how to grow even more! Download The REACH workbook: https://www.covenantdoylestown.org/reach Follow Along: 2 Corinthians 8:8-15 8 I say this not as a command, but to prove by the earnestness of others that your love also is genuine. 9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich. 10 And in this matter I give my judgment: this benefits you, who a year ago started not only to do this work but also to desire to do it. 11 So now finish doing it as well, so that your readiness in desiring it may be matched by your completing it out of what you have. 12 For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have. 13 For I do not mean that others should be eased and you burdened, but that as a matter of fairness 14 your abundance at the present time should supply their need, so that their abundance may supply your need, that there may be fairness. 15 As it is written, “Whoever gathered much had nothing left over, and whoever gathered little had no lack.” Our broadcasts will start at 8:55am & 10:40am every Sunday. #church #sermon #generosity
📓 Download The REACH workbook: https://www.covenantdoylestown.org/reach This week we begin to look forward to what God has in store for us as individuals here at Covenant church as well as corporately together in our new series: REACH 2 CORINTHIANS 8:1-7 1 1 We want you to know, brothers, about the grace of God that has been given among the churches of Macedonia, 2 for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part. 3 For they gave according to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own accord, 4 begging us earnestly for the favor of taking part in the relief of the saints— 5 and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then by the will of God to us. 6 Accordingly, we urged Titus that as he had started, so he should complete among you this act of grace. 7 But as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you—see that you excel in this act of grace also.

What does Jesus mean when he said not to cast our pearls before swine? Does it have to do with labeling people or with our actions? Come prepare your heart to be trained by the Gospel of Jesus as we pick back up with our Discipleship Rhythms. Matthew 7:5-7 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. 6 “Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces. 7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Our broadcasts will start at 8:55am & 10:40am every Sunday. #Jesus #churchonline #biblestudy
