Let's pass the torch!

It's time to pass the torch to a new voice as I've pretty much run out of things to say! If you're interested in continuing the podcast, email an audio sample of what you would do with the show to cbdtalkpodcast@gmail.com by the end of April 2023 and our goal is to have a new version of the podcast up and going with a fresh voice by June 1, 2023.
It was great to reconnect with Chris Driessen. We hadn't spoken with Chris since episode episode 36 three years ago. Now the CEO of SLANG Worldwide, he's representing multiple brands in a publicly traded company that's available on the OTC as ticker SLGWF. We talked about product safety and consistency - a difficult task when you have products across the country where you can't take product across state lines. We also talked about the Federal regulations that are giving the Canadian side a leg up when it comes to the stock exchange and how we hope that Federal legalization will help even that playing field for the US cannabis companies. Take a look at Chris' interview with the CSE (Canadian Stock Exchange) podcast here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyUrKus9mYQ And check out their cbd products here: https://lunchboxalchemycbd.com/ Catch up with us at www.cbdtalkpodcast.com/ where you'll find links to the YouTube, Spotify, ITunes and Google Play podcasts as well as links to our social media accounts.
In this episode, we talked with Kate Povondra of Happy Buddha Hemp about common mistakes that people make when starting with CBD. Kate gave us some good advice when it comes to getting the most out of your CBD. Happy Buddha Hemp is also offering a 40% discount with code CBDTALK at checkout. In this episode we talk about Delta 8 THC - a THC product that is actually legal to ship to nearly all states because the DEA designated Delta 9 THC to be the "illegal cannabinoid" through the Farm Bill. This is a really interesting episode - I learned a lot. I appreciate the information that Al Hoffman brought to the episode and hope that it helps to open up the opportunity for more people to have better access to whole plant cannabinoids. We talk a lot about the importance of ease of use in products. If it's not easy, people won't use it and CBD is definitely something we want people to use to improve their health and their lives. TJ Stouder with HOLISTIK Wellness has a product that fits that bill. We talk about the stigma around cannabinoids, products and where we hope to see the industry headed in this episode. Episode #94 with David A Dawson Our first episode in a bit, and we're going to touch on the studies being done with cannabinoids and Covid with scientist David A. Dawson. Also, we'll talk about David's book - Pummeled to Death by Hamburger - which is a GREAT read. It's funny, a true page turner that also has a lot of great information around cannabinoids. I wanted to do an episode about FECO (full extract cannabis oil), also known as RSO (Rick Simpson oil) because I think there might be a lot of listeners who have heard of this but have no idea what it is, why to use it or how to use it - let alone how to make it. We are joined by Rebecca Joseph who's life changed because of being introduced to FECO and now helps others to change their lives as well. If you have questions regarding FECO / RSO, you can reach out ot Rebecca at rebejo77@gmail.com . She'll help as best she can. I hope you benefit from this episode. Episode #85 - A perspective on recent vape illnesses And . . . I'm back. Sorry for the absence but I needed to finish my book and I have not made time to schedule some of the amazing people that spoke at the AHPA Hemp-CBD Supplement Congress. I really felt the need to share some information on the vape related illnesses since there's a lot of noise coming out of the mouths of some politicians and the media doesn't seem to know how to cover this type of thing properly. There was a great New York Times article that had very specific information, including quotes from the FDA, that can help explain it. You can find that article here: https://nyti.ms/2N0omKU And if you want to be notified when my books is being released and having its free Kindle download day, go to https://www.cbdbea.com/ and signed up for the newsletter. I'll send you a notice a few days before and then again on the release day. With all of the speculation about which way the FDA is going with CBD, we invited Michael McGuffin, president of the American Herbal Products Association for the last 20 years (minus 2 days as of today) to talk with us about his interaction with the FDA and his thoughts on the topic. Michael shared his insight with us and how the FDA can help both the industry and the consumer through using the dietary supplement regulations to govern CBD and how it actually already covers it in the existing regulations. If you're in the industry, head over to http://www.ahpa.org/Education/TechnicalWorkshops/TabId/349/ArtMID/1109/ArticleID/1104/AHPA-Hemp-CBD-Supplement-Congress.aspx and register to attend the AHPA Hemp-CBD Supplement Congress with workshops and speakers from the FDA, USDA and retailers like Natural Grocers among many other industry leaders. Learn how to become compliant with the FDA regulations around supplements to prepare for the upcoming changes. It's SCIENCE NIGHT!!!! In tonight's episode we discussed several studies, the science behind bioavailability and specific conditions that cannabidiol is showing to be beneficial for. Jamie Baumgartner from Panacea Life Sciences was a WEALTH of information - armed with his PhD in Biochemistry and years experience in medical R&D. I'm so grateful for his time and knowledge and what he's doing to advance the "science light" status of medical status with studies, consumer education and effective formulations. Check out https://hempcbdsciences.com/ - an amazing source of information on cbd and its efficacy. GREAT stuff there! Tonight we spent time with Amy Nichols learning more about the safety and efficacy of cannabinoids. The range of symptoms and illnesses that can benefit from cannabinoids is so wide because of the way the Endocannabinoid System in your body works and how the use of cannabinoids helps to strenghten that system. With a degree and experience in nutritional science, Amy was able to use that knowledge to help herself overcome physical ailments with cannabinoids and is now teaching medical professionals the basics so they can help their patients as well. Check out CannaMedU at https://www.facebook.com/CannaMedU and look for more great information from them as they grow and expand. And we want to thank our sponsor, Proverde Health at ProverdeHealth.com, for sponsoring this episode and offering a 20% off discount when you use the code CBDTALK to try their products. If you haven't listened to episode #81 with Tony Oddone, I highly suggest checking it out for some amazing information - specifically about GMP, running an ethical and socially responsible company and producing products that guarantee label claims.
