Description

On 15th August 2016, I finished the screenplay for "Hollywood Boulevard". This podcast is about turning that script into my first feature film.

Can you make a film with no industry contacts and no money? What exactly is the difference between making a feature and a short film? Can you attract name actors on the strength of the script alone? How hard is it transforming a screenplay into a great film?

This weekly podcast will aim to answer these questions and more by documenting my journey as a filmmaker during the making of "Hollywood Boulevard".

In this episode I talk about some last minute casting additions, Joe Swanberg movies, the importance of details, the headache of scheduling, knowing when to compromise and personal ambitions for the film.
In this episode I get you up to date on all things pre-production on "Hollywood Boulevard". I discuss a casting switch-up, my epic battle and defeat of the dreaded self-doubt, my love of actors and rehearsing as well as the pressures of trying to organise a film shoot when you have no idea what you're doing. I also get smug about writing and praise my DOP too much.
In this episode, I am joined by three actors from "Hollywood Boulevard" - Monica Sagar (Max), Guy Walker (Felix) and Terry Corbett (Victor) - and we discuss the first read-through, initial reactions, how everyone is approaching the project and short films vs. features. Oh and Guy spoils Shaun of the Dead. Our social media stuff is underway too.
