This is my favorite episode of this podcast.
I always want to hear what Hannah says, in general, but I am already worried/sad about the "white animal rights activist," part even before hearing the podcast. I am white and priviledged, I acknowledge that, but I also think the plight of animals in our world today is bigger than me and my race To me, caring for animal rights is something that should be open for everyone, regardless of race or gender, or privilege. Eating meat isn't even an option for everyone in the world and people having been "making do" with not eating meat and/or embracing their decision not to eat meat for hundreds and thousands of years (except for maybe in the Artic, Siberia, etc., where people traditionally had to eat meat and wear fur). There are many groups of non-white, non-European people, who are vegetarians and who wouldn't necessarily look down on white people for being vegetarians, or assume that they aren't legite because they are white. I hope that even though someone may be a "white animal righ
love this! as an academic who has never "passed" successfully, I totally understand the struggle but am also nervous around getting permanent employment (I'm an adjunct)
