Can the guy who sells you your running shoes change your life?  Darren Griffith says yes, and he's looking to be part of an experience like that any time someone walks into Village Runner in Redondo Beach.  That's the guy you want to buy shoes from! Coach Jen and Darren wax poetic over the ongoing adventure of running, passing on the joy of running and exercise to our kids, and the potential for something amazing every day.
Kris Germain and Jeff Williams welcome Husband and Wife and self described unlikely CrossFitters, Jeff and Marjorie Pugliese to the show.   The show takes a sweeping look at how two different personalities can find their own significant existence in the same CrossFit atmosphere.  Nicknames, chicken legs, the value of coaching for the individual, strict pullups, overhead squats, double unders and probiotics all make an appearance in the episode. If you're interested in the deal on probiotics that Jeff mentions at the end of the podcast email jeffropugs@yahoo.com and mention the 310 podcast for a discount. find us: @crossfit310.com @koach310.com @jeffwilliams702 @baldsound https://www.crossfit310.com/ https://www.baldsound.com
Welcome back to the 310 podcast.  In this episode Kris Germain and Jeff Williams welcome back health coach extraordinaire Jen McMhaon.  She is a nutrition, health, and fitness coach who loves running, eating lot of broccoli, and having occasional dorito!!!    The meat of the podcast centers around the problem with the way most gyms are doing Nutrition Challenges and how CrossFit 310 has turned their Nutrition Game upside down to address the problem of "White Knuckling" your way through things and Utlimately failing again and again. We also delve into a lot of Big Jeffs eating habits, coerce him to run a 5k, and discuss baby steps (thank you Dr. Marvin).  All this while trying to fathom the purpose of yacht rock, why anyone would want to run a century race, and why science can't/doesnt/or shouldn't make chocolate flavored broccoli….   @crossfit310 @jeffwilliams702 @ultratrainingwheels @baldsound http://iamuniquelyhealthy.com/ https://www.crossfit310.com/ https://www.crossfithealth.com/ http://www.baldsound.com/

This week, Fitness expert Kris Germain and the Unofficial, Official Hype Man of CrossFit 310, Will Jones, welcome Jeremy Cousins to the show. Jeremy Cousins is the Owner and Head Coach of CrossFit Thousand Oaks in Thousand Oaks, CA.  In this episode, the dudes talk about their own unique paths to deciding that Fitness would be their vocation.  The podcast highlights the unusual absence of all things athletic in Jeremy's upbringing. Coincidentally, or providentially (you decide), friends and mentors draw him with community and the challenge of something new into the "workout world".  From there, Jeremy cuts his teeth with personal training and is ultimately baptized in CrossFit, where he now finds himself a proud owner of a CrossFit gym, and laser-focused on helping change peoples lives through community and the challenge of something new. find us on itunes: find us on Google Play:   Where else to find us: crossfit310.com crossfitthousandoaks.com CrossFit 310 Facebook CrossFit 310 Instagram CrossFit Thousand Oaks Instagram Kris Germain Instagram Will Jones Instagram
This week, Fitness expert Kris Germain and the Unofficial, Official Hype Man of CrossFit 310, Will Jones, welcome Mike Roth to the show. Mike Roth (Rothy) is the T.V. Director for the CrossFit Games.  When you flip on ESPN or CBS, you are watching the show that he orchestrates.  In 2011 he was invited to work with the CrossFit Games media crew and afterward swore he would never return.  Then in 2012 he was invited back but told, "You need to CrossFit because you need to understand the suffering."  Mike's whole world changed after that.  He has been the TV Director of the Games ever since, and the CrossFit Games are bigger than ever.  It is a global phenomenon.  Five and a half years later, Mike defines family and culture different than he ever had before.  He's fifty years old and cannot wait to connect with as many people as he can, in as many gyms as he can.  All because he showed up at a CrossFit gym and joined a class, just like the rest of us.   Where to find us: www.crossfit310.com CrossFit 310 Instagram Kris Germain Instagram Will Jones Instagram Mike Roth Instagram
This week Kris Germain and Will Jones get candid with Jen McMahon and the world about nutrition, as they embark on a quest for something better for everyone. Here's the thing, Kris Germain thinks that most every gym is not handling nutrition very well--including his.  The workout is sexy and it gets a lot of deserved attention on social media, but in the wake of the current "do brutal workouts" craze, nutrition has fallen to the wayside.  So has our general health and recovery.  Talking in generalities about nutrition and hosting a challenge a couple times a year isn't helping enough people. In this episode Kris gets transparent about his search for a better way to engage nutrition for the people he's fighting for in his community.  Jen McMahon is a Health Coach who graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and she joins Kris and Will to start shining a light on ways to approach your own nutrition (Bio Diversity). This week Jen tells us where she starts with nearly everyone (and it's probably not what you think!), Will hits a Pun-PR thanks to Alicia Silverstone, we battle continuously to keep Jen on the microphone, and one of Will's tattoos wins Kris' admiration. This week Will Jones and Kris Germain stitch stories together with long time friend Jeff Williams.  Stories include throwing up nearly everywhere Jeff tries to CrossFit, passing out while stretching; flying off of the pullup bar when you weigh 300 plus pounds; empaling your lifting buddy with a sled; being the 5th strongest man in the olympic lifting world if you're not actually counting everyone; and being fired, re-hired, and acknowledged by Dave Castro. Yup.  Joe Dirt ain't got nothing on this episode.
