In this episode I get an opportunity to interview Greg Pihs from Music City Experts. However in this episode we are not talking about real estate, instead we are talking about hardships that Greg experienced as a young child. On the surface it is easy for us to see a man who is successful, but we never take a moment to consider what that person has been through to get to where they are. Enjoy part 1 of this two part episode!

Be where you are

There have been and are currently experts that are predicting a recession. All the ingredients are there to see this happen, what are you doing to make sure that you and your family are protected when this next wave hits? Its too easy for us to complain about all the bad things going on in our life and lose sight of all the great things that we have right here in front of us. Simple things that we take for granted. Take some time on a day to day bases to identify some things in your life that you are grateful for. Sometimes we even need to take a step back and write those things down.
Comfortable Discomfort

Comfortable Discomfort

2019-08-0221:00

We see it all the time, high level producers that are doing seemingly crazy things. Getting up at 4 am, working out twice a day, running marathons. ETC. This challenges them to get out of their normal routine of mediocracy and do something great with their time and their life. Are you getting out of your comfort zone to accomplish your goals?
Own your ship

Own your ship

We all know that one person, the one that everything bad happens to. And when it does it is everyone elses fault. But one thing we also notice is there is always one common denominator with that person, them. What if we took ownership of our issues instead of pushing the blame to someone else? What if instead of making a rash decision to replace someone, we took that time to work with that person? Could ownership improve your life?
Get out the and get after it, the name of the day should not dictate your efforts. Why do we allow ourselves to base our efforts based on other peoples exceptions of what they will accomplish during a work week? If we have high aspirations and goals, shouldn't we work towards those each and every day at 100%?

Believe in yourself

Believe in yourself

Luis shares an intimate time in his life where he experienced failure. Failure that could have easily brought him to his knees. Failure that ultimately did bring him down. But eventually he found his way and found a way to rise to the top again. See the one thing that most of us don't do is realize that even our worst hour can be other peoples brightest day. We get too far down our own rabbit hole to realize what we can still do. He lost 5 month of his life out of the 432 months that he has been here on this earth. When put into that kind of prospective, it doesn't seem like that big of a deal. Does it?
Memorial Day Podcast

Memorial Day Podcast

2019-05-2414:00

Remember, Memorial Day is about honoring those who we have lost while preserving our freedoms. When you are out with your family or friends this weekend, remember what this day is about. Also do what we can to pass on that message to our younger generations so that they can honor those who have fallen in the pursuit of our freedoms as well.    In this episode we talk about getting back into the habits again. Getting into the habit of working out. Not making excuses and focusing on the end result.
Being a high school student has changed dramatically from the years that we were in school. We have now introduced mini computers that just about all students carry in their pockets. These tools are some times used for bullying and other purposes that have a massive effect on our children. In this episode, I speak to our oldest son about what he experiences on a day to day basis at his local high school. You may not be as shocked as you expected to be.
This is an issue we hear all to often. Another offer not accepted because the client is using their entitlement to the VA home loan. Not because the offer was inferior but because the agent may have heard that the VA home loan is more difficult than any other loan type. This cannot be furthest from the truth. The fact of the matter is, the VA home loan with a properly trained agent can be one of the best home loan offers out there. The closing rate for most companies is higher than any other product. The time it takes to close is typically shorter and most companies do not have overlays on the product as well. Take a listen to some of the crazy things we have heard regarding the VA home loan.
Mentors or mistakes

Mentors or mistakes

2019-04-2621:00

Episode 131: Do you have a mentor? If so, how long have you had one? How difficult of a process was it to find the perfect mentor that fit your needs? To find someone whose message resonated with you? This weeks guest, John Abbas, has an app he is working on that will circumvent all these troubles and help direct you to the right mentor for your needs. Almost like an Uber for mentor ship. We also discuss his new podcast that is soon to be released. His podcast will feature massive action takers, people who have shown the stamina it takes to keep pushing when the odds are stacked against them as well as mentors that provide extreme value to their respective market places. This will be a podcast that you certainly do not want to miss.
The Michigan Marine, Brad Stinson, shares his story of being honorably discharged and returning to his home town. A person who once felt the commradery of being part of a team, suddenly finds himself in a place that is no longer the way he left it. His friends and family have grown up and started families all while Brad was left to feel like he was further behind than when he started. Left in the shadows of his community, Brad struggled to find a sense of direction in his new found life outside of the military. This unfortunately is a case that is far too common. Far too many times people like Brad are left not feeling welcome. As a community I feel it is our duty to improve on this because I feel it is our obligation to help our nation's warriors find a sense of direction when they return home. I challenge each one of you to do something very simple after you listen to this podcast. Reach out to a veteran that you are friends with and start up a simple conversation.  Hows it going?.....

Finding balance

Finding balance

2019-03-2917:00

Too many of us do this far too often. We get so obsessed with being the best or getting something done that we tend to lose sight of why we started something in the first place. We have to find balance in all the things we do. This is something I struggle with as well, so I speak from the heart when I say this. If you lose sight in what is important, you may wake up one day to find out that the important things are no longer there.
Running for office is a big move, you are asking to be the voice of your city. Lord knows, you better be a good one. You are gaining momentum to become a popular person to be elected into office to only become a person that many people are no longer fond of. That is unless you are a person who stands up for the people and become a voice for them. In this podcast I go into why I think I am a great fit for our community. I expose the motivation behind running and discuss my standpoint on a lot of hot topics.
The day I lost my mom

The day I lost my mom

2019-03-1522:00

Episode 125 Here I am, as open as I can be. I am discussing the day I lost my mom. The hard decision I had to make on whether or not they continued to revive her or if they allowed her to go in peace. It was one of the toughest decisions I had to make in my life. In this episode, I discuss the day she passed and the days after. This is a therapeutic episode to me, it is something I have had to get off my plate for a long time so that I can deal with my closure. Its something that I am sure, I am not the only one who has went through this.
Basking in negativity

Basking in negativity

2019-03-1110:00

The water cooler talk, those could be some of the worst conversations that you could engage with. If you are already having a crummy day, and you get around people who's minds are in a bad place anyways, its very easy to get submersed in that negative talk. Its even easier to slip into it and believe that problems that are being talked about really do exist in your life as well. You've seen it. Someone become what we call a "cancer" to the others around them and influencing their thinking. Suddenly an issue one person has turns into an issue that several have. This is why its important to separate yourself from that and keep charging forward. Allowing others to take us off task is not ok.
