This week on the Style Masterclass, we are talking about the idea that "style is silly." Next time this thought pops up for you, I want you to challenge that sucker! Specifically we talk about: 1. "Style is silly" is based upon a silly premise that we cannot think about style and also be concerned with other issues. 2. "Style is silly" is a thought other people have, but it's not one that you have to take on as true. 3. Don't get your style advice from people who are not experts and unconcerned with style. Style for Curvy Women

Style for Curvy Women

2020-08-2511:32

On this week's episode, I'm going to give you my top three tips for style for curvy women. None of my recommendations have to do with you going on a diet, squeezing yourself into multiple Spanx, or going on some sort of weird fast to cure belly bloat before you get into a dress. In fact, I'm not a believer in modifying your body in any way to fit into clothing. I believe that the clothing must conform to your body 1. My three philosophies on style for curvy women 2. Why you should ditch baggy clothes 3. Why you should ignore tag sizes 4.  A word on Jeans To learn more about style for curvy women take my free course, www.judithgaton.com/stylecourse
Banish BS Fashon Rules

Banish BS Fashon Rules

2020-08-1811:59

This week we're going to talk about banishing BS fashion rules. So many of my curvy style masterclass students come to me with a lot of BS fashion rules. To create a style you love, you will need to banish all of these old rules. I believe every woman should dress and love the body she is in, but when you have a rule book telling you what you can and cannot wear it feels very difficult to break free and create a wardrobe you truly love.  To take the free style class, Banish BS Fashion Rules go to www.judithgaton.com/stylecourse

Plain and simple you all are in need of a confidence boost. So many of us think that confidence is something we are born with or something that we can get. It's as if you believe, confidence is an arrival place and once you have it you always have it. I also think that sometimes we believe that confidence comes from a set of actions that we do. If we just perfect these sets of actions, we will automatically be confident. What ends up happening though is if we don't complete the set of tasks in exactly the right way, it erodes confidence. We are placing our ability to feel confident in our ability to complete a set of actions. Actions are not what creates confidence. We create confidence with our thoughts. I know this may seem counter-intuitive. So I'm going to give you a little confidence boost, by debunking some common confidence myths.  INSTAGRAM: https://instagram.com/judithgaton SHOWNOTES: https://www.judithgaton.com/Ep100/
A go to outfit is an outfit that you can rely on in a pinch. It is the outfit you can throw on before you head out the door and know you're going to look stylish and feel confident when wearing it. A go-to outfit is different than the regular schleppy clothes you have draped across a chair. A go to outfit must leave you looking stylish and feeling confident. Those are the two first criteria of a go to outfit. The other criteria is that it must be something comfortable. It must be something you actually want to wear. Here's how you create a go to outfit in three easy steps.   INSTAGRAM: https://instagram.com/judithgaton SHOWNOTES: https://www.judithgaton.com/Ep99/

On this week's episode of the Modern Vintage with Miss J Podcast, we discuss vintage style not vintage values. We are all given beauty and fashion advice from the external world around us. The question is do we want to keep believing, repeating, and following that vintage and rules? This week I give you a framework to look at vintage beauty advice and reframe it or chuck it. Just because your grandmama said it, doesn't make it right. Let's evaluate the usefulness of any vintage beauty and style advice.
