At this week's gathering of the Cult of Horror, the delectable duo (plus Hunter) discuss their ongoing lives of melodrama. Elliott is still carless and grieving. Hunter discovered the HATCHET series a decade late. And Eric tries to pump some life into the podcast with a poor-man's morning-zoo soundboard. This week's main review is Shudder's newly released vampiric horror, JAKOB'S WIFE, starring THE Barbara Crampton. The boys will decide if it goes for the throat or just plain sucks. And lastly, the gang reviews their first cult/fan recommendation with 2020's THE EMPTY MAN. A paranormal mystery that has a lot going on. Listen in to hear whether the boys were blessed or cursed with the new segment's first installment. This week's episode is the second part and conclusion of the CULT OF HORROR FEAR STREET SPECIAL. Much in line with the review of the this trilogy, Eric reveals that he is straight out of fucks to give at work and is on an office mean streak. Here's to hoping he's still employed. 🍻No new news this week. Just a cut to the chase (literally in this case.) The gang continues their plummet into Netflix's FEAR STREET "thrillogy" with the middle child: 1978. A classic camp slasher that explores more of Shadyside's witch curse and gives Elliott his sack-headed-killer fix.Lastly, the third and final film, 1666, throws the FEAR STREET films into a colonial time warp giving us a beginning to this whole story. The boys weigh-in with their highs and lows, blessings and grievances and their final thoughts on FEAR STREET as a whole. Hunter finds his new hobby as a digital artist as he casts Elliott in his "BASSIST INSTINCT" glamour pic. And Eric turns a new page in his book of incessant trolling by turning his sights on anti-maskers. No one is safe. Literally.  Then, the gang family-styles the latest in horror movie and TV news for your info pleasure. And Finally CULT OF HORROR presents its extra long review of Netflix's and R.L. Stine's FEAR STREET: 1994. Our hosts spend the whole episode walking you through the first of this trilogy's kills, thrills and face-palms. Back once again, this week the fellas are more fear than fright as the Covid-Delta variant is clouding over their spooky boy summer. To add to this morose mood is Hunter and Elliott's privileged car problem woes. Meanwhile, Eric is a capable adult man who can mend his own machinery. Post pity-party, Elliott big-shoots the latest in horror news and releases, as per usual. This week's review is Netflix's Italian camper-cult, folk-horror film, A CLASSIC HORROR STORY.  Is this European flick a new classic or a hodgepodge of misplaced references? Finally, Elliott gives his freebie movie recommendation with South Korea's 2016 suspense/horror story, THE WAILING. A creepy movie that has damn near everything.d r i n k   t h e   k o o l - a i d   / /  h a v e   a   g r e a t   d a y What did you think of A CLASSIC HORROR STORY or THE WAILING? Let us know! Back to the horror after a historical holiday hiatus, the boys are full-bore into hot mess summer. Eric suffers through Karens in the workplace. Hunter claims to be taking a road trip soon. And Elliott thinks the Mandela Effect theory is dumb. But then there's actual news. This week the boys rate the brand new psychological horror, video nasty themed film, CENSOR. Is it worth a rewind or a fast forward? Finally Hunter brings the cult his movie recommendation with BANSHEE CHAPTER. A maybe or maybe not scifi, thriller/horror/conspiracy sleeper from 2013. See if this MK-Ultra, mixed media mind-fuck is something you'd liked to be subjected to.Donate to Andre Gower's massive medical costs here:https://www.gofundme.com/f/andre-gower-near-fatal-heart-attack-intensive-cared r i n k   t h e   k o o l - a i d   / /  h a v e   a   g r e a t   d a y What did you think of  CENSOR or BANSHEE CHAPTER?  Let us know! This week's episode is jam-packed! The boys discuss the Golden Age of wrestling. Eric and Elliott dish on the new season of Netflix's BLACK SUMMER, leading to the gang hashing out their survival plans for the, at this point, inevitable apocalypse. And as per usual they bring up and defend GILMORE GIRLS. On a special news segment, the guys weigh in with their thoughts on the new trailer drops for CANDYMAN (2021) and HALLOWEEN KILLS.Next, the boys tear into their review of FALSE POSITIVE. HULU's brand new pregnancy thriller starring Ilana Glazer. Abort or keep? Listen for the diagnosis. Finally, Eric presents us with his movie recommendation of the 2014 psychological horror film, LAST SHIFT. NEW EPISODEOn this week's episode, the spookiest boys find themselves in the moodiest of moods. Hunter's out of meds, Eric's sleep deprived, and Elliott's caught in the middle of a toxic household. After kicking things off proper with some exciting news that's "too big to fail" as well as the latest in headline-horror, the gang gleefully hops into a review for the 2020 film, CAVEAT (2020)! This latest Shudder exclusive has the critics, the cult and the boys talking. Is CAVEAT the indie-gem  we've been waiting for all year OR or is it plagued by limitations like the title implies? Finally, Elliott brings a spoiler-free review for an obscure made-for-TV film entitled DARK NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW (1981). This old-school horror tale gives new meaning to the term "the final straw."d r i n k   t h e   k o o l - a i d   / /  h a v e   a   g r e a t   d a y What did you think of CAVEAT (2020)  or DARK NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW (1981)? On this week's episode, the boys come back from a short break and kick things off with some shit talking, strangling, Yu-Gi-Oh, sex work, and a dense backlog of horror news. Next, they flawlessly segway into the latest installment of the only active horror franchise: THE CONJURING: THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT.  Will Eric continue singing the franchise's praises? Will this bring an end to Elliott's decade long quest to destroy the Warrens' legacy? Will Hunter just use the shrug emoji and leave it at that? Tune in to find out! The episode wraps with Hunter's Tubi pick dubbed CLOWN (2014). This film has heart! Also a lot of organs flying around. Check it out or else! This week, the boys discuss work (or lack thereof), Texas' stormy weather, "beef-meats" Matthew McConaughey and Christian Bale. You know, old man shit. Then Elliott upsets himself again by speculating about upcoming horror films and series. The gang then takes a chance on the latest ROSEMARY'S BABY knockoff that is eloquently titled SON (2021). Will this be another trite and aimless waste of time or a diamond in the rough? FIND OUT! Finally, Catfish wraps things up with an action-packed, blood-drenched thrill ride called NO ONE LIVES (2012). Brought to you by the WWE. That's not a joke. On this week’s installment, Eric’s goes off the rails, Hunter gets Schlit-faced, and Elliott has a bone to pick with Hunter. After a grand altercation, the boys breakdown a slew of horrific news, including a depressing update on the Collector series. They meander into a review of the latest Shudder original THE BANISHING (2021), directed by Christopher Smith of TRIANGLE fame. Will this installment live up to the legacy Smith started or become imprisoned in a dungeon of mediocrity like many before it? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯The cast concludes a pick from Elliott’s vault: a faux-documentary that is more relevant now than it has any business being, SAVAGELAND (2014). You won’t want to sleep on this one. You won’t be sleeping after watching it either.d r i n k t h e k o o l - a i d / / h a v e a g r e a t d a y What did you think of THE BANISHING or SAVAGELAND? This week's episode finds the boys in a slow news week and really phoning it in. Instead they have discussions about aliens and road trip piss break visits to this truck stop planet. Elliott goes on a rant about his disdain of white people, his frustration over the recent racist attacks and Mark Wahlberg's history of violent hate crimes. (Look it up!)Eventually the conversation turns to the main topic review of 2020's fisherman scifi thriller, THE BLOCK ISLAND SOUND. What's that about?Wrapping out the episode is Hunter's spoil-free movie suggestion of THE BLACKCOAT'S DAUGHTER (2015). A twisty-turny film about some evil shit befalling some familiar faces at a Catholic prep school. How about that ending, eh?d r i n k t h e k o o l - a i d / / h a v e a g r e a t d a y What did you think of THE BLOCK ISLAND SOUND or THE BLACKCOAT'S DAUGHTER? Let us know! This week's friggin' episode finds the boys back on schedule and off topic, as per usual. Elliott tells the guys about his Spring Break vacation with the kid, including graveyards, urban exploration and a road trip fail. After a quick update on some upcoming horror movies, the fellas finally dissect the popular new film PSYCHO GOREMAN. there's a lot of balls in the air on this one and it's pretty crazy. Is it the heckin' best or is it friggin' frigged? Tune in and find out.Lastly, Eric brings us CATFISH'S CATCH OF THE DAY with the 2012 Justin Benson/Aaron Moorhead (SYNCHRONIC) debut film, RESOLUTION. Much like the boys' other Benson/Moorhead review, Elliott finds himself, once again, outside in the rain during Eric and Hunter's bromance. Either way, these two movies are friggin' wild.d r i n k t h e k o o l - a i d / / h a v e a g r e a t d a y What did you think of PSYCHO GOREMAN or RESOLUTION? Let us know! This week the boys return after Catfish's birthday hiatus and are delighted over the hopes of getting vaccinated. Yet the many voices of Texas' red, white and bigoted and the "no mask, no problem" gubernatorial decision have them truly fearful. After a mixed-bag of news the guys hike into a conversation on the much anticipated WRONG TURN (2021) reboot. Did the filmmakers right the wrongs of the 2003 original or did they get just as lost? Finally, Elliott takes us on a journey into his anxious psyche with his overly paranoid movie recommendation, CHASING SLEEP. Come get triggered with the boys over some good ole' healthy trauma. Enjoy!d r i n k   t h e   k o o l - a i d   / /  h a v e   a   g r e a t   d a y What did you think of WRONG TURN or CHASING SLEEP? Let us know! This week's episode finds the gang finally thawed out from Texas' winter storm of the century. We find out who survived and what was left of them. It was tough times for the Cult over the past weeks. (Elliott might actually be dead.) But now they're back and lukewarm as ever. The big show kicks off with the usual news segment chock-full of announcements for upcoming new movies and unnecessary reboots. Moving into the Super Happy Fun Room, these lucky birthday boys get to review the latest in the Chuck E. Cheese-style horror mashup, WILLY'S WONDERLAND. This one featuring more Nic Cage than any of the others. How does the king of acting stack up against children's murdering mascot robots and how does WILLY'S WONDERLAND stack up for the boys?Wrapping up the party, Hunter brings his choice for an under-the-radar film hiding in plain sight with I SEE YOU. A 2019 mystery/thriller starring Helen Hunt that is full lf twists and turns and more twists. But Elliott confused it with another 2019 movie of the same name that was possibly the worst film ever. Listen to Hunter and don't make that mistake. What did you think of WILLY'S WONDERLAND  or I SEE YOU?  Let us know! This week's episode was recorded at the beginning of the 2021 Texas snow-mageddon. Kicking off with a 100 car, multiple fatality, pile up and eventually ending with a complete breakdown of all modern amenities. But before that the spooky boys discuss simpler times including Elliott's very embarrassing, celebrity fueled birthday presents. The guys are celebrating Valentine's Day (or the lack there of) as well as their fear of snow.A brief, media-heavy news spot lists the latest in DVD and Blu-ray releases and film announcements. At long last, Hunter's great white hype and A24's SAINT MAUD has come into view for the cult's review. Does the dark, obsessive psychological horror live up to A24's holier-than-thou record or is SAINT MAUD  the patron saint of boring? Let's see.Rounding out the end of the episode is CATFISH'S CATCH OF THE DAY. Catfish reels in a deep bottom-feeder from the depths of Tubi with EL DIA DE LA BESTIA. A Spanish comedy-horror about a priest, a TV psychic and a metalhead trying to contact Satan in order to find and kill the local born Antichrist on Christmas day in Madrid. Finally the boys have returned from their nightmarish January to bring you a double feature, extended episode! But first they dish about their lives, liberties and their pursuits of neither. They also bring you up to speed on the latest horror news, including jaw-dropping insights into Univeral Studios and their monstrous missteps. In addition to their thoughts on Netflix's popular NIGHT STALKER docu-series and the two sides of the true crime coin. For this week's double feature, the fellas attempt to track the purpose of Shudder's HUNTED (2020.) A film "loosely" inspired by the fable of Little Red Riding Hood. A great start for any film. They conclude this double-stuffed episode with SYNCHRONIC, the new sci-fi maybe-thriller from Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead (RESOLUTION, SPRING, THE ENDLESS) which features a pair of paramedic who must find the secrets of a designer drug with often deadly side effects. Since Eric and Hunter are big Benson/Moorhead fanboys, will this renew their vigor for the directorial duo or leave them thoroughly disappointed? This new year, the boys find themselves more solemn than celebratory after a low-key end to a high-strung year. But moving forward, they discuss the latest in horror news full of big-shoots making bad decisions and Elliott goes on a highly discouraged rant about a highly offendable demographic... (The views expressed in this episode are not the views of the Cult Of Horror or it's memebers.)January brings the Cult it's first film review in the form of Vince Vaughn's new hit slasher comedy, FREAKY! Find out how freaky it is.Finally, before burying 2020 once and for all, the gang name and discuss their personal top 5 horror movie picks of the last year. This week the boys reign in the holidays with a lot of talk about SUPERNATURAL. For some reason... again...But eventually they find their way to a review of Shudder's new satanic, prego-horror original, ANYTHING FOR JACKSON. ...Or Patrick? Or was it Kevin? (Eric can't seem to remember.) They wrap up their month of "Holiday Tubi Roulette" with ALL THROUGH THE HOUSE. Thus putting a bow on this year's Santa slasher series. And this one is, let's say "problematic." So join us for some horror cheer, yuletide gore and some staunch cynicism. On this week's episode the fellas are deep in tangent territory as Eric and Hunter pit SUPER NATURAL and BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER against one another for cult TV series supremacy. But thankfully all three can agree on their warm fondness for THE GILMORE GIRLS as well as Catfish's and Elliott's deep, bitter hatred for the film RED CHRISTMAS. Back on track, we're gifted with an immersive review of the Cronenberg kid's brand new science fiction thriller POSSESSOR! Is it any good? Is it a horror film? Did Hunter understand any of it? Find out! Finally, the boys are two knuckles deep into the holiday season. Which means round two of their holiday Tubi recommendations. In keeping with the Santa slayer theme, the seasonal three unwrap Norway's 2017 film CHRISTMAS BLOOD (JULEBLOD). Was it naughtier or nicer than RED CHRISTMAS? This week, the spooky boyz try their best to get into the holiday spirit by donning creepy fucking masks,  complete their quarterly forecast of the theater industry, and kick around experiences with embarrassingly disturbing films. They then  creep into a review of writer/director Bryan Bertino's (THE STRANGERS) newest nail-biter THE DARK AND THE WICKED (2020)! They wrap with the first round of holiday Tubi recommendations! This week's selection is  SILENT NIGHT (2012), the loose-remake of cult classic SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT (1984). Unlike the original, this film is actually based on a true story! It's true.
