Description

Welcome to We Get It! Abby and B Mo hear all the damn time that Millennials need a "safe space" and, well, here it is. Each week, we tackle the madness that makes our 'millennial brains' melt like how we're blamed for the demise of the restaurant industry and what to do when your friends start having babies that aren’t cute. We get it when people want to hate us, and we get it that being a millennial is a lot harder than people realize. We like pizza more than we like most people, we have too much to say, and we want to you to hear it because… well, WE GET IT.

We Get It: The Real Millennial Safe Space This week, we're tackling a topic that's not only super relevant this time of year but something that hits B Mo and Abby personally this week. We want to do our part to break the stigma attached to mental illness and we understand that during the holidays, our mental health can take more than a few hits. The holidays can be lonely, filled with pressure, and just plain crappy for so many people. Join us as we talk about the things we struggle with, including anxiety and how we deal with people we've lost, and some suggestions we have if you or someone you know needs a little extra comfort this year. As always, please be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @wegetitpodcast and shoot us an email at wegetitpod@gmail.com. We appreciate any and all feedback and love hearing from you. And if you have a couple extra minutes, please rate and review us!
We Get It: The Real Millennial Safe Space *HEADS UP* There is some explicit language in this episode, so hold off if you're listening in the car with the kids. There's a toxic epidemic that has been happening within a lot of minority communities, especially the black community. It seems that being well-spoken, or educated makes you "white." You somehow become less, because you desire to be more. You become vilified and ostracized by your own race. It's like having your own racial community ask you to be the stereotype instead of trying to be more. It's ugly, it's toxic, it's stupid. B Mo shares an experience he had recently with this and explains why he's sick of it.
We Get It: The Real Millennial Safe Space Thanks for joining us for Part Two! We were so passionate about the topic of toxic relationships, because we think it's something that hits home with a vast majority of people, that we had to break it into two segments. We dive into toxic situations we've both been in and our advice to anyone dealing with a relationship that is draining their mental, physical, and emotional health. We would love your feedback on this and for you to share your stories of toxic relationships and what you did to survive them. You can find us on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter @wegetitpodcast or shoot us an email to wegetitpod@gmail.com. As always, we appreciate you and hope you take just a couple minutes to subscribe, rate, and review us.

We Get It: The Real Millennial Safe Space Here we are - a week post Mid-Term Elections. And boy, were they something. In this episode, Abby and B Mo talk about the historical outcome of the Mid-Terms. We couldn't be happier that there are now more women, people of color, various religions, and sexual orientations all winning and representing their states for the first time ever. Millennials CRUSHED in this election and are consider "one of the most impactful voting groups." So to everyone who went out and voted last week, regardless of what or who you voted for, we salute you for doing your part.
Episode 3 of 'We Get It' is here! The Social Media SeparationWe run through our first encounters in the wild, wild world of social media (AIM users, where u at??) and how much it's changed in the past 10 years. Despite the fact that social media has made us more connected than ever, it's also divided us and made it almost impossible for us to ACTUALLY connect on a human level. So how do we change that? We're trying to figure it out. We get it - it's weird. B Mo gave us a crazy good suggestion for how to combat "cell phone syndrome" when you're with a group of friends and we have a challenge for you - that doesn't require posting a different picture every day.
