The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. - John 10:10 As believers, we should be living an abundant life. If we just go day by day only waiting to go to heaven, we will miss out on all the blessings and amazing things that God has for us to do here on earth. Jesus died to give us abundant life here on earth and eternal life on heaven. That we can live in dominion and power and advance His kingdom here on earth. The devil will love to steal, kill and destroy our destiny and have us just exist, not making any impact for Gods kingdom. When we become born again, we have to live for a purpose. In Matthew 6, Jesus directs us to seek the kingdom and its righteousness first and then everything else that we need would be added to us. This is a very interesting scripture and a lot of sermons has been taken from this verse. Does this mean that we shouldn’t work towards any wants in our lives? Is it biblical to have desires for a bigger house, nicer car or frivolous things? Today I’m going to share with you how we are to practically live out this verse? We have celebrated the resurrection of Jesus during Easter celebrations last week and now what?  We all know some people who call themselves Christians wont go to church again until Christmas or New Years. This is where the term CNE Christians come from.  People who call themselves Christians who only go to church on Christmas, New Years and Easter.  The only other time someone like this may attend church is during a wedding or funeral.  If this is you, you’re not fooling anyone with this type of Christianity. Especially God.  If you only go to church during these events, I’m going to share why this does not help your spiritual growth. Most of the times during this time of year we hear about the story of Jesus death burial or resurrection. But I’ve never hear about the lengths that the Roman government went to keep Jesus’ body buried.  I feel this is important for everyone to know because it puts it into perspective that if God wants something to happen, its going to happen. The word Freedom is defined as “the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved.” When we are not saved we are slaves to this world system. Jesus came to make us free and free indeed. This life that we live is not only about money although sometimes it seems as having money will solve all of life’s problems. People sometimes place money as the be all and end all in their life but as born again believers we know that Jesus is the centre of our lives. That being said we need to remember that you can get a lot done for the Kingdom of God with money. There’s a battle for our children and we have to know how to fight it. When parents teach their children about the Gospel it becomes the primary way that Christianity will spread to the next generation. Today were talking about having the courage to step to take a risk for God.  As we continue to walk with God there will eventually come a time when we have to step out on faith and do something outside of our comfort zone. Some Christians feel like poverty or lack is what God wants for us and that we are to just pray and try win the lost to Jesus. Christians are encourage to try to get others to know Jesus however the Bible doesn’t say we need to be poor or not acquire money or material things. We can want those things but we cannot allow them to become a god or idol to us.
