In Transit

In Transit

2019-11-1644:25

In our sermon series, we have been looking at what to do when we find ourselves in the "in between" place. Something in our lives has changed or ended and now we are not sure what to do going forward. These times can be very difficult. Thankfully God's Word shares a lot about this. This week we will look at the life of Paul. What do we do when we discover that all that we know was wrong?Support the show (https://www.emmettnaz.org/give.html)

This Sunday we continue in our "In Transit" sermon series. Sometimes we find ourselves in the "in between" place, trying to travel through a place that is not where we want to be and we're not sure what to do going forward. These times can be very difficult. Thankfully God's Word shares a lot about this. This week we will look at the life of Daniel. What happens to the faithful in the midst of the unfaithful?Support the show (https://www.emmettnaz.org/give.html)
Primary text: Luke 8:40-56This Sunday we continue our look at the good news that Jesus brings into the world. As we continue to journey through the Gospel of Luke, let's keep looking at Jesus. Think about these questions: Who is Jesus? How do we respond to Him? Do we respond to Jesus with fear and distance? Do we respond to Jesus with faith and draw near? Do we respond at all? Do we believe that His cleanness overpowers our uncleanness? For what purpose? Support the show
The Story of Joseph #2

The Story of Joseph #2

2020-06-2242:02

Join us for a special worship service which will include a celebration of dads. All men will get a gift. Whether you are a biological dad or you just invest in kids, thanks for all that you do!The Story of Joseph- Part 2Primary text: Genesis 37:12-36Our theme for the summer is based on the thought: when life gives you lemons, make lemonade... focusing mostly on the third ingredient: sugar. Because, as we have talked about, if you just add water to your lemons, you still end up with a sour drink. When life gives you a sour moment, we don’t need more sour, we need sugar. So we have been looking at sour moments in Scripture and how adding sugar... adding the ways of God... help those moments. This week, we look at another sour moment in the life of Joseph. His relationship with his brothers gets worse and he is left feeling all alone. Where is God when we run into sour moments? What would God have us do? What does God have you reflecting on this week?Support the show (https://www.emmettnaz.org/give.html)
Neighborhood Watch #2

Neighborhood Watch #2

2020-02-1934:13

We started a new sermon series last week by discussing the value of a human life according to God. Apparently humanity has an amazingly high value to God, even connecting loving our neighbors as part of loving Him. This week we dive into the familiar parable of the Good Samaritan. Who is our neighbor according to Jesus? What prejudices hold us back from engaging with our neighbor today?Support the show (https://www.emmettnaz.org/give.html)

This Sunday we will be continuing in our new series. We will are addressing the question: How do we stand firm in our convictions but still be engaging with those outside the church? Jesus tells us that this requires us to be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. This week, we will look at the fact that when we stand firm in our convictions, we should expect that we will often be met with hostility. So what do we do with this? Fully You #2

Fully You #2

2019-01-2242:02

As we start the new year, many of us make new year’s resolutions. As Christians, a common goal is to grow in our relationship with the Lord. So we come up with some goals or activities that hopefully will help us do that... maybe committing to spend at least a few minutes each day in the Bible and in prayer. Maybe to finally jump into a small group or attend church services more regularly. These are all great things, and I encourage you in these endeavors... but sometimes there are some deeper issues, beyond these activities, that keep us from growing in our relationship with God.
