I feel I (and maybe others?) say no to things mentally because you feel you only have a limited amount of time ( lifetime or hours in the day!) and so a new thing feels like you are going to need to invest time in something which you are not sure will pay off...so your precious time has to be used in developing existing knowledge.

Enjoying listening about your travels and experiences - I’m on my sofa feeling useless with a migraine so it’s good to listen to life and art stuff and feel I’m absorbing something useful! Good luck with your trip, Louise.

I am enjoying the new format just as much as I did before. Both of you are great and I'll gladly listen to one or both of you, with or without guests. Very happy that Art Juice is continuing on, it is my favorite.

Brilliant episode again. I've been listening for a while now and taken many pieces of advice on board. It has helped me so much with my website which I always put last on my list. Thank you both, your doing an amazing job. all the best, Louise

I have a group of friends I get together with once a week. We laugh and tell stories and it always makes a week better. That's how this podcast is for me. There's information for artists but it also gives me a chance to laugh and say "I can relate to that". Keep doing what you're doing.

podted this in CA but thought you might both like to see it... 'Slightly off topic but just to say my eight year old son has been looking at lots of artworks in their topic recently and yesterday looked at Barbara Hepworth, one of my inspirations (we went on a family holiday to Wakefield to see the Hepworth gallery and Yorkshire sculpture park which he loved). So, they were asked to make sculptures out of natural materials. My son announced he made an abstract one (he knows that is my style of painting) - when I asked him what that was, he told me it 'was something that hadn't been invented yet as it was in your mind and more about what you felt'. Proud that something is rubbing off!'

when I wrote my art dissertation when I interviewed abstract artists, I came to the conclusion that abstract artists are choosing to make inward observation and portray this, representational art is looking outward.

Must recommend Ruth Hogan's 'The Keeper of Lost Things' which is a beautifully crafted book about found objects and a running story which connects them. great to listen on audible. x

I just listened to this today and was stunned by the parallels of the book Alice just finished when this was recorded. Keep up the great work. This is a fabulous podcast.

Love this podcast. I've arrived late to the party and I'm chewing through the casts in order at the moment, and enjoying every minute! It's a great companion to a few hours in the studio, always informative but also laugh out loud funny in places. Highly recommended to anyone trying to make art of any sort for a living.

Hi Ladies. I use a painter's drop cloth when I'm in my studio. serves the purpose and it's easy clean up.

I've now listened to just about All your podcasts in a period of 2 weeks! some I've listened to several times. there's so many things you say that I identify with. I'm glad I'm not alone. in fact today I was having almost a mental block and had to force myself into playing. I had you 2 talking while I painted! I LOVE HEARING YOU BOTH! thank you. I think I owe you another coffee! xx

Thank you so much you two! so brilliant and I confess Tuesday is Art Juice day, something I now look forward to! Could you explore pricing and how you work out what something is worth, how much to charge? I recognise this is a no rule fits all situation but maybe some guidelines as to how to get started? Looking forward to the next episode, keep it up! 👏👏👏
