Imagine being told you are being released from your job, while being supported at a mental health clinic, following a suicide attempt. This was the real-life experience of a military member who was given this by their leadership, who drove 4 hours to give them this paperwork.  Although, they have been released as the leader, other leaders encouraged this behavior. Is there really a better way to lay off team members? No one gets into business ownership inspired by the firing of employees. It is typically for financial freedom, for the impact they can make, the legacy building or even the ability to control your own schedule. The world has been learning a lesson in empathy and leadership through CEO Vishal Garg's approach to laying off 900 employees. Charles Darwin said, "It is not the strongest or the most intelligent who will survive but those who can best manage change."
