I Thrist

I Thrist

Jesus says I thirst from the cross while He is dying. This is to fulfill scripture, this is also for you. Jesus thirsts from the cross to bring you living water for eternal life.
Testing God

Testing God

2020-03-1515:13

We often test God's patience by our obedience. However God is also testing us.  Anxiety and fear get in the ways of receive God's love and forgiveness. The test ofr us, are we going to continue to trust in God or give in to our fears. God's grace and mercy and there for us even in the midst of difficult times.
When Jesus bears humanity's sin, The Father, forsakes Him. Why, because God cannot be in the presence of sinners. But in the midst of this injustice, our salvation is accomplished. So also in our daily life when we face time when we cry out God what is this happening to me. We continue to trust in the promises of God, knowing that as Jesus was forsaken we are now invited to be in heaven.  We know how it is going to end.
Too often we are challenged to study God's Word. It seems that we are just content to be aware of God's love and forgiveness for us. As we study God's Word more through the Holy Spirit we have more confidence and trust in God for our daily life.
Wow, the thief on the cross who look to Jesus admitting his sins receive the perfect absolution (forgiveness) Today you will be with me in Paradise. As we also confess our sins Jesus says the same thing to us.
De-Friending Satan

De-Friending Satan

2020-03-0214:35

Thanks to Adam and Eve and their rebellion against God we were once friends with Satan. Now because Christ Jesus de-friends us from Satan and makes us His own through Holy Baptism we are children of God.  However, the desire to return to the previous bad relationship is still there.  It is through the power of God's Word we can resist Satan's attempt to re-friend us.

Father Forgive Them

Jesus first words from the cross states the purpose why He is there, to bring forgiveness. But do we want that forgiveness? Jesus said for they know not what they do.  Do we know what we are doing or do we need a Savior from sin. Jesus is that Savior, our confession of sins is a confession that we need Jesus.

God wants a special table fellowship with Him. In order to make that happen Christ Jesus first needs to remove our sins so that we can be in the presence of God.
Choices to Make

Choices to Make

2020-02-1715:25

God first chooses us. In Deuteronomy Moses reminds the people that they need to continue to keep the commandments of God, or else.
God wants you to believe and trust in His promises, not by trying to self justify by putting others down. Jesus is the one who justifies us, just believe and trust in Him. If you are looking for something to do, then build up other people, forgive them as Christ Jesus forgave you.

When praying to God are you afraid of saying the wrong words or thinking that the professional i.e. Pastor prays better? Because of Jesus, the Heavenly Father hears all prayers. Correct English isn’t necessary, only Jesus. Our prayers are attached to the prayers of Jesus, so the Heavenly Father loves our prayers.
Overcoming Temptation

Overcoming Temptation

2019-03-1015:30

Jesus overcomes temptations because we cannot.  No matter how much will power we think we have, we fail. Jesus gives His body for the life of the world, His body that overcame the devil's temptation, His body that died on the cross, His body given and shed through Bread and Wine, are given to us, for the strengthening of our faith and the forgiveness of our sins.
