As Pride Month comes to a close, our Marketing Pupil Leaders took the opportunity to record this latest ‘This Canford Life’ podcast episode with pupil representatives from our EDI Committee, Alice, Celia, George and Jess. They discussed the work the EDI group have undertaken so far and the progress they have made, along with exciting plans for the year ahead launching with the theme “The Year of Inclusion”. Current EDI Pupil Leader Jess said: “Having an unequal society is really unnecessary, if we can even do a little bit where we are in this school, it’s great to try and make a change.”
Following the recent announcement of the new Heads and Deputy Heads of School, along with Pupil Leaders for the coming year, we are delighted to launch this new podcast episode ‘Meet the new Heads of School’. Charlotte and Joe, our new Marketing Pupil Leaders, chatted to new Heads of School, Arian and Mimi and Deputy Heads of School, Matt and Rosie, about their aims for the coming year and beyond, some new fun and exciting house events, a message to the younger pupils and some memorable moments in their Canford journey so far. Current Upper Sixth pupil and drama scholar, George Farthing, talks to Canford Podcast presenter Hamish Johnson about his jam-packed life as a boarder in Court House, including, his recent success winning ‘Best Director’ and ‘Best Overall Performance’ in the House Drama Festival for his adaptation of The Black Watch, his involvement in the 1st VIII rowing squad as Cox, the sense of accomplishment he has gained from being involved in the City Reach partnership charity project and the camaraderie and team spirit in Court House he has cherished during his time at Canford. Outside of school, George talks about his experience as an actor in popular films, Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts, his gap year plan to travel to Gambia with Cross Links and future university decisions. A must-listen for anyone wanting a glimpse into the life of someone who has fully immersed themselves into so many aspects of Canford School.
