Description

What is your favorite story? What makes it your favorite? Is it the characters, the story, the dialog, the action, the prose? What about your favorite author?Writing discussions with authors usually focus on stories they just wrote, or their craft, and these are valuable and interesting discussions to have! But what about their personal favorite piece of their own writing? What makes it their favorite? Every word they set down is precious, carefully considered, examined, worried over, removed, added back, and removed again. What makes a piece their favorite? Why is it their favorite? What does it tell us about that author? Story of the Story seeks to help us understand our favorite authors, and to give them a chance to tell us about something they'll positively gush about: their favorite story.

In this, the announcement episode, I discuss the coming release of The Story of the Story, a podcast about...well, stories.I also beg for money and exposure, but this is just meant to give you, the listeners, an idea of what to expect.Support the show
THIS EPISODE IS NOT SAFE FOR WORK! I prefer not to censor myself or my guests, and there is unusually strong language in this episode. If you have small children who you don't want cussing like an Australian baby, don't let them listen to this episode. I have not bleeped out the swears, and won't unless I get some requests. In this week's episode I talk to Aussie author AJ Spedding. She is a multi-talented artist who writes and edits professionally, and has won two awards for her stories! We discuss her short horror story "The Whims of My Enemy," a harrowing tale about prisoners playing a deadly game at the behest of mysterious and cruel captors, and it all takes place in a deathly train car.AJ can be found at:Her websiteI'll get in touch with her in regards to social media, but for now, her website is a hotbed of author activity, so make sure to check it out!Support the show
