Well, well, well...we suppose it had to happen sooner or later so best to get it out of the way now. The Cardback Cafe locked its doors up for a week as the CBC Boys had to fight time and space in an epic battle that will be spoken about for years to come or real life got in the way which doesn't sound nearly as cool. However a week without talking toys has left the boys (Frank Soldato and Jeff Edwards) bursting with energy and all the coffees along the way are only the icing on the cake as the Cardback Cafe Podcast returns with a Venti episode as we catch up on the last two weeks of our recent acquisitions as well as a heap of news. The Dollars/Pounds were flowing as we both created some shelf space only to seemingly reserve it up straight away for new additions to our collections. Find out how messy it got with two weeks worth of Purchases, Pre-Orders and Pickups. And they say no news is good news so what does it mean when there is ALL news because it certainly isn't bad when we start talking some epic reveals from the likes of Beast Kingdom, McFarlane Toys and of course NECA who may have somehow topped their reveal of the 'AN American Werewolf in London' figure...HOW DO THEY DO IT?!?Find out on this XL edition of the show filled to the brim with toy and collectible chat all fuelled by a never ending up of coffee. Frank Soldato and Jeff Edwards are back and this time it's personal! The CBC boys take to the airwaves as we get back to normal albeit with one big change and that is that the Cardback Cafe Podcast has now dipped it's toe into the video world. This recording of the CBC podcast was also caught on camera as Frank and Jeff emerged from the shadows to take their first step up the YouTube mountain but fear not as the show itself remains pretty much unchanged. We're still talking about all the latest reveals and news from the toy/figure/collectible community including enough Batmen to make your head spin! Seriously it's a good time to be a fan of The Dark Knight as we've got new figures coming our way from McFarlane, MAFEX and SH Figuarts to talk about and droll over. But what about The ThreePs you ask? Well with the uncertainty ahead there will no doubt be a downswing in purchases for the guys but as we've yet to go over all of the epic haul from the Great California Hand-washing Adventure we take the chance to break down the massive pile of plastic that we both acquired on an epic trip to SoCal.It's back to business for us on the Cardback Cafe Podcast...or at least as much as we can do so sit back and DON'T leave the house to buy a coffee, instead brew a nice pot at home and as always, keep hose hands washed!Be sure to follow us on Twitter @CardbackC for more toy chatter and if you're serious about collecting you can find us both Frank and Jeff (with their collections) on SNUPPS as SinatraTheTank, Jedwa and The Cardback Cafe. We've had ourselves a little extended break between episodes since we last checked in on the CBC boys but rest assured that despite all the stuff happening in the world that Frank Soldato and Jeff Edwards are back talking toys and more here on the Cardback Cafe Podcast. The guys got in their California adventure just as a global crisis was beginning, little did they know just how much things would be changing over the weeks ahead yet despite all the change in the outside world we are trying to keep things pretty normal as we break down our recent Purchases, Pre-orders and Pick-ups in fairly light edition of THE THREE Ps.It would seem that no matter what toy news will ALWAYS be hitting the internet and this episode proves it as there have been some big announcements including new Turtles from NECA, Mario LEGOS and Bandai getting our mouths watering with a tease for the ages! All that and just what exactly are we doing as we try to keep ourselves isolated and safe in this crazy world on our first post-California episode of the show.Be sure to follow us on Twitter @CardbackC for more toy chatter and if you're serious about collecting you can find us both Frank and Jeff (with their collections) on SNUPPS as SinatraTheTank, Jedwa and The Cardback Cafe.
It's finally that magical time of the year when Frank Soldato and Jeff Edwards get together under the California sun for some figure hunts, games, movies, drinks and more. Get involved as the CBC boys recount all that has been going on in a very special episode of the show. It's been an eventful few days in Southern California as Frank and Jeff try to bulk up their collections while continuously washing their hands to fight off any nasty viruses out there in the world but they won't let a global pandemic stand in the way of an epic toy hunting excursion which includes trips to Frank and Son Collectible Show as well as the amazing INLAND EMPIRE TOY STORE in Redlands and a handful of Targets, Ross, Gamestops and Walgreens.Toys aren't the only thing the lads have been up to though as there is more to SoCal then just endless Targets. A little trip to the happiest place on earth also gets mentioned as Frank and Jeff outdo Han and Chewie in Galaxies Edge and get soaked on Splash Mountain (all while downing multiple churros along the way).So relive the fun with the two giddiest sounding toy collectors this side of Space Mountain as the Cardback Cafe California Special is upon us!Be sure to follow us on Twitter @CardbackC for more toy chatter and if you're serious about collecting you can find us both Frank and Jeff (with their collections) on SNUPPS as SinatraTheTank, Jedwa and The Cardback Cafe.
