Remember when we laughed at having a home appliance taken over by hackers and then it happened. Now we're dealing smart cars that have insecure tech built in to even the entry level trims. Think about this...You're driving in your new car, loaded with tech (insecure spoiler alert). It starts to veer right and then left (not new, this happened in 2015).Now you're at a stop light and your breaks are stuck but your gas is to the floor. Smoke starts entering the cabin.Engine catches fire. Flame on.Doors lock and airbags pop without any impact. Now all other smart cars around you are doing the same thing.Hundreds of cars completely pwnd, driving into each other without any ability for driver to correct.Zombie apocalypse? No but definitely a zombie attack and not too far distant out there either. How? Well, primarily because we know security gets baked in after production line is running. But it's not just the car manufactures problem to solve. There's several parties that all need to yoke up.Join AJ Khan, a Cybersecurity Leader, Entrepreneur, Author and Speaker at the 2020 CyberCraft Summit to hear him talk about his predictions and what needs to be done to prevent casualty of life.2020 CyberCraft Summit If listening to this before 10/1/2020, register for the CyberCraft summit for free here. There aren’t many security professionals who’ve had the breadth of experience reflected in John McClurg’s resume. The BlackBerry SVP and CISO spent his early career with the United States government, serving as both a supervisory special agent and branch chief for the FBI as well as a deputy branch chief for the CIA. In these roles, McClurg was involved in the capture of both Kevin Poulsen, the former black-hat hacker, and the CIA double-agent Harold James Nicholson. Following his public service, he served as a vice-president and Chief Security Officer for Lucent, Honeywell, and Dell before coming to Cylance and now BlackBerry.Keynote: The New Reality: Bringing Order to Chaos with Unified Endpoint SecurityWe’re poised to deliver a new reality across devices, networks, apps, and people leveraging AI, machine learning and automation.Fireside chat: “Of Cabbages & Kings”: The New Security & How AI is Liberating UsReactive Detection & Perimeter Trust. Within the Cyber community exists dedicated, seasoned and consummate experts that somehow find time in their busy schedule to give back to the cyber community. Michael F. D. Anaya is one of them and he joins me to give a preview of his topic at the CyberCraft Summit happening on October 1 and 2 (registration and CPE credits FREE) where he will take the main stage and speak on the Criminal Mind. You do not want to miss it.Michael served 14 years in the FBI working cybercrime and now is fighting criminals in the private sector for Expanse. After interogating cyber criminals (or as he likes to call it, "having a prolonged conversation"), Michael picked up on 4 conclusions that can help us all know our own level of criminality. He puts us in the spotlight and gets into how we are all criminals and correlates our level of criminality compared to those arrested by law enforcement.Connect with Michael on Linkedin.Help him grow his YouTube audience and subscribe to his channel! If you are listening to this after October 2, 2020, access his training presented at the summit and earn CPE at our website: https://www.cybercraftsummit.comSupport the show (http://patreon.com/fraudnotfrog)

Whether we are fighting hackers from stealing data or money or fraudsters from stealing data and money, we are one team. Yet, somehow, the anti-fraud and cybersecurity industries remain siloed and isolated. It's time to bridge that gap and work together.I've consulted with both small and Fortune businesses and seen the disparity, overlapping technologies, under-utilized tools and duplicated processes. I've attended more conferences than I care to admit where I left more discouraged than inspired. How is it that these two industries compete against rather than collaborate with each other? Some up and coming vendors are catching on but the private and public sector are way behind. It's time to bridge the gap and marry these two industries.Welcome https://www.cybercraftsummit.com - Register for Free today. Virtual seating limited to the first 1,000,000 attendees.A free 2-day virtual summit where you will hear from both cyber and anti-fraud experts and leaders that are as passionate as we are at bridging the gap.We have three main categories, though you can attend any presentation you would like.Break-In: This is for the Noob or the curious. The person trying to get hired (yes we have a virtual hiring event to help people land jobs in this difficult but amazing field).Geek Out: This if for the nerd (and you know who you are). Geek out with OSINT, Dark Web, Social EngineeringLead With: This is for the leaders, innovators, strategic chiefs in the industry. Many of the presentations qualify for CPE credits as well. We hand selected all of our speakers.Keynotes include: Cynthia Hetherington - OSINT Queen and Hall of FamerFrank Casey - SEC Bernie Madoff WhistleblowerNick Espinosa - Forbes Tech Council Member and TEDx speakerJohn McClurg - Former Federal Agent, respected Cyber leaderConnect with our keynotes and other amazing presenters right from our website as you read the speaker bios.Come join us on October 1-2, 2020 for the CyberCraft Summit where we will begin bridging this gap between Cybersecurity and Anti-Fraud.Register for free now and please tell your friends, neighbors, peers, colleagues! If you are a vendor, visit our sponsor page. Like it or not, our identities are already compromised for bad actors to use and, contrary to popular belief, there are many things that you can do to protect yourself from becoming a victim of identity theft. Taking action now can be the difference between protecting yourself and having to deal with clean up for years down the road.Think there is not a difference between a credit freeze and a credit lock? Think again. In this episode with Thomas O'Malley, a former United States Federal Prosecutor and now Founder of Frozen Pii, we get into specific steps you and your loved ones can do to protect themselves from becoming victims of identity theft. If you took action and protected your identity by freezing your credit, drop Thomas or host Matt Christensen a DM on Linkedin. We want to know how many of you did this after listening to the show and will do a follow up.Check out these references from the show:https://www.frozenpii.netWorld Famous Social Engineer Rachel TobacSupport the show (http://patreon.com/fraudnotfrog)

Every now and then, I come across a reformed fraudster whose story is worth telling to the world through this podcast. Not everyone can travel to a conference or pay to bring a keynote to help train investigators and business owners.Tom Hughes started as an accountant, stole, stole again (and again) and eventually got caught. I learned that he almost got caught on his first embezzlement but thwarted the interview because he knew the auditors didn't have all the facts. That led to him stealing for many more years until eventually getting caught.Tom doesn't blame that auditor for his crimes. He blames himself. He has owned his mistakes and now is on a mission (literally) to help others prevent fraud before it occurs.Connect with Tom on Linkedin Visit Tom's website Connect with host Matt Christensen on LinkedinCheck out our awesome and affordable CPE training on fraudnotfrog.comSupport the show (http://patreon.com/fraudnotfrog)
