According to the American Cancer Society, when breast cancer is detected early, and is in the localized stage, the 5-year relative survival rate is 99%. Along with mammograms, advanced technology using DNA testing can help detect breast cancer. About 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of their lifetime.  However, If breast cancer is found early, there are more treatment options and a better chance for survival. Women whose breast cancer is detected at an early stage have a 93 percent or higher survival rate in the first five years. We’ve followed Ogden Clinic Orthopedic Specialist Dr. Michael Hall on his journey during 2020, from helping in “the eye of the storm” on the frontlines of COVID-19 in NYC, being released and in quarantined in Virginia, to his return to back Utah. We followed up with Dr. Hall to discuss his own experience contracting COVID-19 and his unique perspective on combating the virus in Utah after fighting it in New York.
