Description

How It's Built is a podcast designed to bring the stories of Southern California business owners, non-profits, and entrepreneurs to the community. In working with these individuals we found their stories to be the most interesting around, but typically get overlooked as the attention is directed towards the biggest brands. Our focus is less around the company, and more on the people behind the company (how they started it, where it's been, where it is, and where it's going). We want to have these stories told to inspire the next generation of business owners, non-profit founders, and entrepreneurs.

George Jackson stops by to give us some updates on The GYM and how they navigated covid/expanded. He also updates us on another project he's been working on - Invent Medical.
Jabez LeBret founded a successful marketing company, sold it, and then decided to go all in on co-founding a tuition free private boarding school for underprivileged females. In addition to that, they aim to make the school self sustaining from it's own revenue sources.
Chris and James saw an opportunity to create a company that catered towards education around one of life's biggest decisions in a non-sales environment. They work with companies to educate their employees on the home buying process whether they are ready to buy today, or need help creating a plan to purchase 3 years from now.
Tracy Sekhon had a thriving insurance business and through a series of events had an idea to create a center of resources for families that have kids on the spectrum. A few years down the road while working with a coach she eventually put the idea into motion and in 2019 ARTC was officially formed.
George Jackson has one of the most interesting stories I've come across. From switching his majors because of a visit from the Kraft family to a marketing class he was attending, to taking on a failing Gold's Gym as a co-owner, to opening Gyms in Singapore, it's all in this episode.
Garrett Richardson shares his story of how he got into the wedding and photography industry as well as his passion to connect with people in the process.
This weeks episode has James Crawford from Venture Leather. James entire mission with Venture is to create a sustainable business that can create manufacturing jobs in Uganda. 100% of the profits are reinvested back into the local community.

Our first Non-Profit - One Atta Time.Sean never desired to start a Non-Profit, but felt the need to solve a problem. I love hearing stories like this from people who are passionate about solving problems, and take it upon themselves to go out an do things to make a difference. Water is such a fundamental need, and something that seems like in today's world everybody would have access to drinkable water. If you would like to support their cause check out www.oneattatime.org

When I think of a 'serial entrepreneur' somebody like Keith Miller comes to mind. Since I've known him he has always had some sort of side project going on (some of which seem crazier than others). In the end it's been a pretty logical progression to where he is now. Passion is what drives him, and he's most passionate about soccer (which if you know Keith you already knew this). I always love when people can turn their passions into how they earn a living.
