Our brains are so damn clever - and they're really good at hiding our anxiety and overthinking...One of the best things I’ve ever done for my mental health was identifying when my anxiety brain is doing the talking. You see, our anxiety is generally built upon thought patterns that run on autoplay and aren’t our true thoughts. The more you can recognize it, the easier it is to shift the pattern.Similarly, our behaviors can shift in subtle, sneaky ways when anxiety is creeping back into our lives. The sooner you can identify these shifts, you can step into the practices that help you regulate and drop back in.In this episode, I'm sharing the subtle thinking patterns and behaviors that might be indicators that your anxiety or overthinking is trying to get your attention. The more you have awareness, the more you can prioritize your wellbeing. In this episode, I mentioned a recent free masterclass I did about regulating the nervous system and moving through fear, called Inner Badass. DM me on Instagram @theremoteyogi and I'll send over the free class.I also mentioned my upcoming program, Free to Rebel. This is THE group coaching program designed to help you ditch stress, boost your confidence, and unleash your sassy, bad girl energy. Lacking discipline and willpower? Join the club!Perhaps the reason you're not going after what you want has little to do with discipline and a lot more to do with how you're taking care of yourself. And more specifically, how you're taking care of your nervous system. This is what I'm sharing today, the importance of taking care of your nervous system, followed by the steps to go after what you want:Get clear on what you desire and make sure it's aligned on a soul level.Sit with your fear and self-doubt to see how you can support yourself along the way to your goalsShare with others and build support around you.Take action and build a structure to move forward. In the episode, I mention my masterclass coming up. DM me @theremoteyogi for info on how to sign up.If you're interested in joining Free to Rebel this May, you can learn more at theremoteyogi.com/free-to-rebel. Doubting myself used to be the daily ritual that blocked me from going after so many things I desired - through procrastination, overthinking, or just straight-up ignoring what I wanted (because it felt easier).Today, I'm sharing how I shifted from insecurity to being an advocate for self-belief.As we dive into the topic of self-doubt, I share:Ways self-doubt might be showing up for you (sometimes, it's sneaky)Releasing the judgment around personal fearsWhat to do when self-doubt comes upA new identity that changed my entire viewpoint on self-doubtHow to boost your self-trust and self-beliefFind this useful? Is it possible to stay friends with your ex? What about running a business with your ex? Whelp, that's what Connor and I have been doing for the last few years, and don't plan on changing that any time soon.In this episode, we share how we transformed our relationship from romantic to the loving friendship and supportive partnership we have now. We are still committed to our relationship - it just looks really different now. Some of the topics we discuss:Starting a business together and how we kept it going through the breakupCommunication and grieving during the breakupHow we still trigger each other and discuss itThe difference between romance and friendshipHow intimacy works between us nowWhat lessons were learned from polyamory (it might bit be what you think)Our relationship now is quite unique and special, but we hope it becomes less and less weird as others see new potential for different relationship styles.A few years ago (long before our breakup), we recorded an episode on lessons we learned in an open relationship. We really dive into communication and owning our personal responsibility in partnership. If you want to tune it in, that was back in season 1, episode 11, or watch it here. I'd LOVE to connect with you! Message me on Instagram at @theremoteyogi. In honor of Valentine's Day, I'm sharing some of the big lessons I've learned in the last decade of dating, including all the ways I used to get it wrong. As an anxious attachment type, I would do crazy things while dating - putting on lots of masks, over-giving with serious mom energy, and clinging to those I slept with. It wasn't pretty, but the worst part was my lack of communication and awareness of my own needs and desires while dating. Now, after years of working on my anxiety and self-doubt, I have learned how to show up very differently in relationships. This includes:Always being myself and not stressing if they like me or notKnowing what I want and how to ask for itClear communication, especially with intimacyI'm sure I missed a handful of things I'm learning, but these seem to be the most useful that have profoundly changed how I feel about dating and romance.I'd LOVE to connect with you! January is all about setting new intentions and a bunch of epic goals for you to dominate throughout the year! Are you with me?!Or... maybe not? The obsession with big goals and crushing them can feel motivating, but what we forget about is the burnout, inner judgment, and pressure we can feel to complete our goals simply because we "should." It's not always very healthy. So I have a secret for setting goals in a way that not only honors the fact that you're a multi-dimensional being who is likely to change your mind about what you want along the way... but also caters to the fact that goals are meant to offer direction, not be the end all, be all.Still with me?
