A quick update and then I introduce you to my colleague, Javier, who runs Pretend Podcast. Pretend is a true crime podcast hosted by investigative journalist Javier Leiva. The show delves into the world of real people pretending to be someone they’re not. Leiva dives into swindlers, snake oil salesmen, undercover FBI agents, cult leaders, and more. One of his seasons covers Frank Abagnale, known for his infamous exploits as depicted in the film 'Catch Me If You Can.' Leiva’s investigative reporting has garnered attention from major players in the entertainment industry, and he has been featured in respected publications like the New York Times and BBC. He was also featured in the Netflix documentary 'Don’t Pick Up The Phone.' Pretend has consistently ranked as one of the top true crime podcasts in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia on the Spotify Charts. Pretend: Who's afraid of Ladonna Humphrey? obviously centers around LaDonna Humphrey, a true crime mogel. Every enthralling installment of this new season introduces a new voice woven into Humphrey’s past, each carrying their own secrets about Humphrey, culminating in an interview with Humphrey herself. Catch my article on the release here. And catch Pretend where ever you stream your podcasts. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thesirenspodcast/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thesirenspodcast/support
We had a great conversation with Greg Overacker, the long-time family private investigator of the Brianna Maitland case, and now the author of the book about her case “The Hunt for Brianna Maitland: The Relentless Pursuit of Answers to One of Vermont’s Biggest Mysteries.” This guy never gives up! The Forward was written by Bruce Maitland, Brianna’s Father, who also founded and is the president of the nonprofit Private Investigations for the Missing, which seeks to, at no cost, fill the need for private investigation by providing families with qualified, expert investigators to work on their loved one's case. You can find them at https://investigationsforthemissing.org/. The Afterword was written by Lou Berry, a former Chief of Police and the Case Manager for PI for the Missing.  Find this book only at the publisher's website: https://books.bloatedtoe.com/the-hunt-for-brianna-maitland/ or through Greg himself. 5-Star read by a 5-star man! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thesirenspodcast/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/thesirenspodcast/support
