Hypnosis and The Brain

Hypnosis and The Brain

2021-06-2230:52

On this episode, Nikki and Priscilla talk to solution based hypnotherapist Nicole Woodcock about how she helps people achieve goals through hypnotherapy.  Nicole shares how she became interested in hypnotherapy after having her first child and experiencing anxiety.  After participating in a hypnotherapy study, she fell in love with the practice and started practicing it herself.  She explains how going into a deep, relaxed state, or trance, helps you open up your brain to ways of thinking and being that you didn't previously know you had in you.  The process of opening your brain up helps you feel more in control of your thoughts and actions while teaching your brain to switch into a REM state.  She shares how hypnotherapy helps children and teenagers because it is a therapy that doesn't require them to talk to her to be effective.  She also discusses how ultimately, her approach of asking solution focused questions helps her clients achieve goals faster than focusing on negative problems. Taking Back Your Power

Taking Back Your Power

2021-05-2529:46

On this episode, Nikki and Priscilla discuss taking back your power and the ways it enriches your life.  They explain how in order to take back your power, you first need to know what your core beliefs are so you know what you stand for.  Once you know what you stand for, you’re able to discern what actually matters to you from what matters to the herd consciousness.  They dive into the many ways herd consciousness can dictate what we think we want, whether it’s a social media advertisement making us feel we should look a certain way or a doctor telling us we should approach our health the same way as everybody else.  Nikki shares her experience with her doctor wanting to put her on a standard of care protocol, and how by standing firm in her belief that it was not the correct course for her, her doctor was able to admit she didn’t think the standard of care worked for everyone either.  They discuss how it is important to allow everyone to have their own beliefs, even if someone is following the herd consciousness, because in return you are allowed to have your own beliefs as well.
