How familiar are you with your overall metabolic health? Metabolic health is essentially your body's ability to make energy from the food that you eat and support optimal organ function. It starts with your metabolism, which is responsible for breaking down your foods and creating energy, rather than storing it as fat.  But, you don't have to have diabetes or be overweight to have poor metabolic health (as I discovered). Tune in to today's episode as I reveal the details surrounding a recent health scare my husband went through that served as a wake up call. (side note: he is ok)This episode highlights how we cannot put health in a box and rely on external appearance alone to inform what is going on inside someone's body. My husband is a relatively healthy guy, very young (30) and from the outside looking in, nobody would have guessed what was actually happening inside of his body. After being together for nearly 11 years, this health scare was the tipping point that forced my husband to start making some radical changes to his lifestyle and to (finally) start taking stress management, and blood sugar management seriously!
