For the past month, I have been physically shut down due to Covid reactivating the Epstein-Barr virus in my body.  This has been extremely difficult to deal with and the same time learning how to cope through this season has also been fruitful. Thank you so much for those who have reached out and I decided to put a podcast out there to help people understand what is been going on and hopefully you can encourage those who may be in the same situation at sometime.  Support the showTake the healing path quiz here to see where you or a loved one is on there trauma recoverySubscribe to my YouTube Channel for the video portion of this episode. 🔴 Youtube🟡 Instagram🔵 Facebook 🟠 TikTok⚫️ Twitter🟢 NextStepCoach
We all instinctively respond to trauma in different ways. Our complex nervous system wiring of this response allows a person in danger to react in four different ways. Fight, flight, freeze, or fawn. There can be both healthy and unhealthy outcomes of those responses. In this episode, Michael breaks down what those responses look like, and how we can learn to manage these as we live out our adult life.  Books Mentioned: Complex PTSD From Surviving to Thriving - Pete Walker  Support the showTake the healing path quiz here to see where you or a loved one is on there trauma recoverySubscribe to my YouTube Channel for the video portion of this episode. 🔴 Youtube🟡 Instagram🔵 Facebook 🟠 TikTok⚫️ Twitter🟢 NextStepCoach

So much stress can come from simply not actively  listening to others, because we are thinking of our Ya-But response instead of listening.  In this episode Michael discusses how we can eliminate the idea of control by simply listening instead of adding your ideas to every conversation. “Yes but” suggests there is a different fact to consider. The words can discount everything that led up to it and can lead to a debate. “Those flowers are beautiful.” “Yes, but they only last two weeks.”“Yes and” shows you agree with what someone has said, but rather than presenting a different fact you build on the words that led up to it. “Those flowers are beautiful.” “Yes, and they do best when they get plenty of water.”ConnectNewsletterMichaelHead.orgFacebook Page Instagram - @_michael_head_ DFTWpodcast@gmail.com Support the showTake the healing path quiz here to see where you or a loved one is on there trauma recoverySubscribe to my YouTube Channel for the video portion of this episode. 🔴 Youtube🟡 Instagram🔵 Facebook 🟠 TikTok⚫️ Twitter🟢 NextStepCoach

On Episode 30 of the DFTW Podcast -Host Michael Head discusses what it looks like to have a healthy dose of insecurity, and how your insecurity may be impacting you and those that you love. A person who believes they are always right and who does not look at themselves because they feel they have it all together, rarely experience conscious insecurity or self-doubt. However, deep down and under a shield of crazy defense mechanisms, this person actually feels very small. Painfully small. Humility, vulnerability, and mild insecurity are qualities that allow a person to grow and love in a healthy way. Many think that emotional support animals and service dogs are interchangeable, but these two types of service animals are meant for separate tasks. A service dog is specially trained to perform a function or job for an owner that has a physical, intellectual, or emotional disability. An emotional support animal serves as more of a companion for the owner. So many questions about service dogs vs emotional support vs therapy dogs, I hope that this podcast will help to educate others on these different type of dogs. You can follow Lucy on Instagram @servicedog_lucy_ConnectNewsletterMichaelHead.orgFacebook Page Instagram - @_michael_head_ DFTWpodcast@gmail.com Support the showTake the healing path quiz here to see where you or a loved one is on there trauma recoverySubscribe to my YouTube Channel for the video portion of this episode. 🔴 Youtube🟡 Instagram🔵 Facebook 🟠 TikTok⚫️ Twitter🟢 NextStepCoach
It's important to be real with your kids, if you want them to be real with you.  The only way you can be real with them is to be real with yourself! Fight the urge to tell your kids what to do and not to do. Focus instead on teaching them the incredible power their choices have to shape their futures. Talk openly about choices you’ve made and what those choices created in your life. When you give them your knowledge and wisdom as an offering instead of an instruction they will be more open to receive it.Connect NewsletterMichaelHead.orgFacebook Page Instagram - @_michael_head_ DFTWpodcast@gmail.com Support the showTake the healing path quiz here to see where you or a loved one is on there trauma recoverySubscribe to my YouTube Channel for the video portion of this episode. 🔴 Youtube🟡 Instagram🔵 Facebook 🟠 TikTok⚫️ Twitter🟢 NextStepCoach

THERE IS HOPE!!!! Children of narcissistic parents who are routinely devalued or scapegoated, commonly internalize feelings of vulnerability, hopelessness, and imminent threat that create a sense of a hopeless future.Like other long-term trauma sufferers, children from narcissistic families often believe that they are damaged and that their life is unmanageable and doomed.Connect NewsletterMichaelHead.orgFacebook Page Instagram - @_michael_head_ DFTWpodcast@gmail.com Support the showTake the healing path quiz here to see where you or a loved one is on there trauma recoverySubscribe to my YouTube Channel for the video portion of this episode. 🔴 Youtube🟡 Instagram🔵 Facebook 🟠 TikTok⚫️ Twitter🟢 NextStepCoach
