Aimee and John discuss all aspects of the publishing industry (especially how to get your stories sold!) with Emily Ezzo --a recent graduate of Rutgers' Creative Writing program -- and author/Professor Evan Rehill. They also discuss the challenges of authentically telling stories, especially as it relates to protagonists who may or may not share the same race or sexuality as the writer...
Aimee and John interview Professor Ashley Chambers, a writer and experimental filmmaker who overcame a potentially life-threatening illness to find a fanbase and acclaim via Instagram. They also discuss how all three are adapting to the challenges of teaching in the time of Covid-19...
Sound Mix by Carmen Borgia Narration by Sofia Solimando This episode features music by Fujiya & Miyagi, Olive Musique, Chill Study, Emmett Cooke & The Lemonheads.  Also features audio clips excerpted from The Road Warrior, Max Max: Fury Road, Miss Americana, Free Solo, The Addiction, The Lost Boys, The Hunger, The Daytrippers, Next Stop:  Wonderland, and Trilogy of Terror.
Hosts Aimee Labrie and John Hulme venture off campus to interview Creative Writing Professor Alex Dawson in the attic of his New Jersey home. There they explore Dawson's unique and eclectic experiences as a creator -- from writing journeys across Europe to his live radio drama troupe to his wildly popular Inside The Writer's House author visits at Rutgers. Not to mention that time his step-father split his head open with an axe... NOTE: This is the last pre-COVID-19 episode, so listen for a glimpse at a more innocent time, when we could actually do things like gather in other people's attics, and Rutgers Men's Basketball was about to break a thirty year tournament drought. Ouch.
Hosts Aimee LaBrie & John Hulme introduce the Writers House podcast, sharing stories about their professional adventures and excerpts from their books and films. They also interview this episode's featured student -- Rutgers varsity gymnast Abigail Karolewski -- about the podcast she created in Hulme's "Documenting Your World" class.
