Whether or not you're a mom, I think it's safe to say many of us have an ideal of what makes a "good" or "perfect" mom based on our own experiences with our mom, being a mom and/or observing motherhood in others. In this episode, I sit down with Shayla (@junkdrawermom) to discuss what she calls "Perfect Mom Syndrome," and how she suggests we remedy it. Based on Celeste Ng's 2017 bestseller, "Little Fires Everywhere" follows the intertwined fates of the picture-perfect Richardson family and the enigmatic mother and daughter who upend their lives. In this episode, we look take a look at the theme of motherhood in this series. This series is full of so many themes that include: motherhood, surrogacy, race, class, sexuality, art, adolescence, choice/abortion, finance, white matriarchy, etc. However, this month the focus is motherhood.
