John is the definition of the phrase "Never Quit." He went through 6 different BUD/S classes and nearly 3 Hell Weeks before finally graduating BUD/S and becoming a Navy SEAL. On this episode of the "Send Me" Podcast by SOCOM Athlete, host Jason Sweet is joined by Kevin Baier, who just finished serving over 10 years as a U.S. Navy SEAL Sniper, Automatic Weapons Gunner, and Instructor. We're excited to announce that Kevin is our newest SOCOM Athlete instructor, and will be instructing at our upcoming Hell Day event in San Clemente, CA on November 19, 2022. Kevin joined the Navy in 2011 shortly after graduating high school. After two deployments to Iraq with Team 7 he had the privilege of serving as a Land Division Instructor at TRADET 3 for SDVT-1 where he taught Special Operations Urban Combat, Land Warfare, Close Quarters Combat, HRST/CAST, Combatives, and VBSS. He finished off the rest of his career at Team 7 as the Reconnaissance Team Lead with the DFP Platoon focused on SOF Cyber capabilities. While on Active Duty he received his Bachelor's Degree in Strategic Studies and Defense Analysis from Norwich University graduating with Honors. After serving over a decade on SEAL Team 7, Kevin recently separated from the U.S. Navy in April 2022. On this episode of the "Send Me" Podcast by SOCOM Athlete, host Jason Sweet is joined by Force Reconnaissance Marine MGySgt Cory Paskvan, one of the most elite & fittest Marines in the entire Marine Corps; currently serving over 27 years in active duty. MGySgt Paskvan supervises & oversees all the training that goes into becoming a Recon Marine; the senior enlisted member of the USMC RTC (Reconnaissance Training Company) where BRC (Basic Reconnaissance Course) is accomplished., Marines & Navy SARC/SOIDC candidates must graduate BRC in order to officially earn the elite title of "Reconnaissance Marines." With multiple combat deployments all over the globe, as well as counter piracy operations, MGySgt Paskvan has earned combat medals to include: Meritorious Service, 2 Combat Action Medals, 2 Navy Commendation Medals with Valor, and more.  In addition to his years of instructor experience training Reconnaissance Marines, he was also an instructor at the United States Marine Combat Diver Course, and is a tandem/barrel qualified jumpmaster. Eric was born in Mexico City, in which his family immigrated to the United States. He received U.S. citizenship after being adopted by his stepfather. Prior to running for Congress, Eric served 15 years in the United States Air Force. While deployed to Afghanistan, Eric received a Bronze Star Medal for his actions during combat operations. The Air Force distinguished Eric’s courage under fire by awarding him with a second Bronze Star, with Valor, citing he “saved the lives of his Special Forces Team”. After separating from the Air Force, Eric founded the "First There Foundation," which provides support & resources to the Combat Control (CCT) community & their families. Eric is now a Congressional Candidate running for the House of Representatives, aiming to serve the United States on a new battleground.
