On this episode of circuit gaze we will be pulling from the archives, so to speak,  presenting clips of a conversation with Pamela Sneed, centered around her courageous memoir “Sweet Dreams” published in 2018.   Here we get into the importance of narratives that reflect the lives of the QTPOC,  and more specifically the stories of black queer women, the  genre bending aspects of her book, and being seen.this episode hosted: jamika ajalonCircuit Gaze is a produced via the publishing site with a symbol for a name at www.lpressl.com Hosts/Producers:  Jamika Ajalon & Fork BurkeSound Design/Edit  & Narration Jamika Ajalon
In this second half Nancy and I discuss her last days in Amerikkka, badass women of color,  her return to France and  what happened the day of her arrest .   (see description in part one for more background)for more information about topics in this podcast and lpressl.com  go herethis segment hosted by: jamika ajalonCircuit Gaze is a produced via the publishing site with a symbol for a name at www.lpressl.com Hosts/Producers:  Jamika Ajalon & Fork BurkeSound Design/Edit  & Narration Jamika Ajalon
In conversation with  Nancy,  a young queer WOC,  francophone,  who is currently awaiting the results of a judiciary   decision.   Police arrested her for allegedly breaking the 'l'outrage' law, against expressing contempt to an police officer, after her attendance at a gillet noir protest.   Her arrest, unfortunately, is far from an anomaly when comes to POC  in France, (disproportionately) . What's also important about her story is her road to politicization, which included her time in the states during some of the most turbulent years in recent US history : between 2014 (which saw the Ferguson riots and the birth of the Black Lives Matter movement) until  2017,  one year after the (non)election of the 45th US president .   In this first part we  learn about her arrest in Paris but also discuss her time spent in America. for more information about topics in this podcast and lpressl.com  go herethis segment hosted by: jamika ajaonCircuit Gaze is a produced via the publishing site with a symbol for a name at www.lpressl.com Hosts/Producers:  Jamika Ajalon & Fork BurkeSound Design/Edit  & Narration Jamika Ajalon
