Celebrating Inside Homicide's first birthday! We gather questions from our Facebook and Instagram and answered them! Thank you to everyone for all your support and love, we are excited for another year of podcasting and sharing these stories with you all.
This episode features two stories about two different families who resided on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Both these cases are very similar in nature, where there was a father or a father figure who killed their children as an act of revenge on their partners. These are the stories of the Challand Family and the Handel Family.
Albert Fish was a husband and a father. He was described as a kind looking man, almost "grandfather like". But underneath his kind exterior was someone who was a complete sadist, and prayed on the most innocent of people.
In October of 1995, it was Friday the 13th. Two teenaged girls were walking to a birthday party when they were snatched from the street and brutally attacked by a man they later named the Abbotsford Killer. This man, for 7 months taunted the public and police leaving the community in complete shock and terror.

Cleopatra was charismatic and intelligent. She used both of those qualities to further Egypt's political aims. She was also ruthless, reportedly killing several family members in order to solidify her role in power. She allied with two of the most powerful men in Rome, creating a massive empire that would unfortunately crumble beneath her.
Andrei Chikatilo, AKA, "The Butcher of Rostov" was one of the former Soviet Unions most infamous serial killers. He was a family man, who had a dark side. He would go on to kill over 50 people, mutilating their corpses and cannibalizing his victims.

In Fort st. John British Columbia, an RCMP officer pulls over a truck for a routine traffic stop. It quickly turns sideways when the woman driving the truck confesses to murder.
This episode features the stories about two different woman who found twisted pleasure in torturing, beating and killing their servant's. They both had similar methods for torturing their victims, each one more violent than the last. Their sadistic ways also mirror the infamous Blood Countess, Elizabeth Bathory
In 1993, 19 year old Jennifer Cusworth was at a friends house party, when in the early morning hours she went missing. 29 hours later her lifeless body was found in a ditch. Police started their investigation into Jen's murder but the case eventually went cold when all leads were all dead ends. 16 years later, the case was re-opened and reviewed, and miraculously solved by using DNA testing. Pol Pot was a Cambodian revolutionary and politician. He was responsible for the Cambodian genocide which left the country in ruins. He was the leader of the Khmer Rouge, and together they killed more than 1 million people through torture, starvation and murder.
This episode features two cases of a similar nature. The stories of Megan Kanka and Sarah Payne are similar in the way that both of the girls' lives were tragically taken too soon by previously convicted pedophiles. They are also similar in the way that both girls' families fought to have laws passed that allow the public to have knowledge of registered sex offenders in their area, in hopes that it would lead to safer communities.

The Roman emperor, Nero, was an embodiment of pure evil. Historical accounts have accused Nero of killing his step-brother, wife and mother, as well as many others who got in his way. He is also known for persecuting Christians and starting the Great Fire of Rome.

When they did not arrive to their destination as scheduled, the Mccann family is left worried that they are missing, or worse yet that something more sinister had happened. Who is Travis Vader, and how is he connected to the Mccann's disappearance?
During the Holocaust, Ilsa Koch lived in the Buchenwald concentration camp with her husband, who was a Nazi commander. She would order the death of prisoners at-will and watched them being tortured and killed with enjoyment. She had a large collection of objects made from human skin. Ilsa Koch is responsible for more deaths than the average serial killer.
Ginger Goodwin was a coal miner who advocated for workers rights. Though many people were friendly and inspired by Ginger, he also made some enemies. After working towards promoting proliferation of trades union he developed a target on his back, and that target grew bigger after he evaded conscription. In July of 1918 Ginger was hunted down and killed by a henchman. But his legacy is long remembered and celebrated still to this day.
Attila the Hun was a 5th century king of the Hunnic empire. He inspired fear throughout the late Roman Empire. Attila's life story is full of murder, rage, jealousy, power and battles. "There, where I have passed, the grass will never grow again" - Attila the Hun
In May, 2017 Traci Genereaux went missing, 5 months later her body was found on a rural farm. Although the person responsible for Traci's murder is still unknown, police have their eye on a person of interest who's violent history makes him the perfect suspect.
This is the story of Countess Elizabeth Bathory, one of the most vicious serial killers in history. Her sadistic ways ended up taking the lives of 650-1000 young woman in her village in Hungary in the 1500's.

In 1992, in our home town of Courtenay, British Columbia, 6 year old Dawn Shaw was murdered. A teenage boy with a dark past was arrested and ultimately convicted for her brutal death.
