This week the Midnight Watchers changed things up a bit and took a look at the classic – but relatively unknown – Dracula movie, Jess Franco’s 1970 Count Dracula. This week the Midnight Watcher took a look at another classic 1980’s slasher film, The Prowler. As always, Quentin talks about how this fits in with other slasher films and the history of the genre. Jennifer helps try to make sense of the plot. Koji, as usual, just makes random comments about the parts that didn’t make any sense to him—especially regarding PTSD.We’re asking our wonderful listeners to be sure to write a review on Apple Podcast and help us move up the chart! This week we talked about the classic 1980’s slasher film, The Burning. We discussed what we loved about the show and Koji (the hater) talked about what he didn’t like about it—was it a porn? But the best part of this episode is when Quentin recounts how this sits in the history of slasher movie history and Koji reminisces about summer camp. This week we’re asking our listeners to tell one friend about the show and tell them why you enjoy listening to the Midnight Watchers.Movie Info:A former summer camp caretaker, horribly burned from a prank gone wrong, lurks around an upstate New York summer camp bent on killing the teenagers responsible for his disfigurement.Director:  Tony MaylamWriters:  Harvey Weinstein (original story), Tony Maylam (original story) Stars:  Brian Matthews, Leah Ayres, Brian Backer You can watch the trailer:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2aG6HQTHD0 You can watch the whole movie on YouTube here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsWP2klf3yA  Find Us OnlineWebsite: https://midnightwatchers.buzzsprout.com/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Midnight-Watchers-Pod-107784637545468/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/midnightwatcherspod/ About UsIt’s almost midnight… are you ready to join the Midnight Watchers to talk about their favorite strange and scary movies? This week Midnight Watchers Koji Steven Sakai, Quentin Lee, and Jennifer Field watch the Brian De Palma 1976 cult-classic Carrie. I think they universally loved this movie, although there was some debate about some of the finer points of the movie. And of course, they went on a tangent, in this episode they talked about prom, specifically the difference between Canadian and American proms.
