Heath Autrey has 21 years of baseball coaching experience at every level including minor league baseball, NCAA I, NJCAA, High School,and the highest level of club baseball in the United States. These experiences have prepared to communicate effectively and relate to the student-athletes and parents of this generation. He has true passion for leadership and for making a positive impact on the future of all the students that I come into contact with. His recent experience is as the Head Baseball Coach and Physical Education instructor at Corsicana High School. He is responsible for a baseball program with over 70 student-athletes, teaching 3 classes of physical education classes with the average class size of 70 students, as well as maintaining our baseball facilities at James G Price Field.  He is currently an Associate Scout for the Baltimore Orioles and his responsibilities are to help identify and evaluate professional baseball prospects in the North Texas area. Inducted in 2014 Raised by a single “Mom” Marie Ham whom he credits as being the “strongest woman he has ever known” because she not only escaped the German occupation of her native France but also battled cancer and raised 4 children Played football, baseball and basketball at Eastwood High School earning 8 letters Earned All District and All City honors in football Earned All District, All City and First Team All State honors in baseball Bypassed a football scholarship to the University of Nebraska to sign with the California Angels as a 13th round Draft selection in 1993 In 1995, he was selected to the Northwest League All Star Team In 1997, he hit 15 home runs and drove in 73 runs for the Cedar Rapids Kernels In 1998, he set the current California League record for outfield assists playing for the Lake Elsinore Storm In 2002, he earned the Angels “Scout of the Year” award He served as Player Development and Hitting Coach for the Provo Angels Worked as Area Scout for North and South Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Kansas and Arkansas In 2011, he was promoted to Midwest Supervisor of Scouting/Cross Checker for the Angels In 2017 he began an association with the San Diego Padres in their scouting department Kevin married his high school sweetheart Jennifer Barron and they have two children Hunter and Amaray

Today's podcast features Coach Ricky Griffin of the Argyle Eagles. Coach Griffin was named 2019 National Coach of the Year by the ABCA after winning back to back state championships in 2018 19. Argyle also won the 2015 4A State Championship. Coach Griffin’s Eagles were also named the 2018 and 19 National Champions. Griffin and his team had a 50-game unbeaten streak which at the time was the longest unbeaten streaking in high school baseball.
Todays THSBCA podcast features Skip Johnson Head Coach at the University of Oklahoma. Widely regarded as one of the best pitching coaches in the country, Skip Johnson has led the Oklahoma baseball program since June 2017. Since taking over the reins after serving one year as the Sooners’ pitching coach, he has led the Sooners to a 71-48 record in two seasons. The OU pitching staffs have posted a progressively lower ERA in each of his three seasons at OU. Sooners pitchers posted two of the top five strikeout totals in program history. 11 of his pitchers have gone in the Major League Baseball Draft over the last three years. skip.johnson@ou.edu

Both players played at Sharyland HS and went on to great D1 careers and competed against each other in the College World Series and were finalist in the NCAA Home-run Derby
John Carter – Varsity Head Coach  john_carter@roundrockisd.org  Twitter - @Rockhardball  Website https://dragonbaseball.net/ Coach John Carter is a graduate of Round Rock High School and attended Round Rock schools while growing up. Upon graduation from high school, Coach Carter attended Texas Tech, where he played both football and baseball. After his playing days ended, he remained at Tech as a graduate assistant from 1992 – 1994. He continued his coaching career at Killeen Ellison 1994-1995 coaching football and baseball. He finally returned home and has been at Round Rock since 1995, coaching multiple sports including softball, soccer, football, and baseball. Some of his favorites include; Johnny Bench (pro-athlete), Smokey and the Bandit (movie), Hunting and fishing, playing golf, listening to country music, Mexican food (Rio Grande & La Margarita) and spending time with family. Coach Carter teaches 10th grade World History and is active in campus leadership. Teaching more than just the game and making personal connections with the players are important aspects of coaching to him. Coach Carter serves as the U.I.L. Representative of the Board for the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association and is an active member of Central Baptist Church of Round Rock. Coach Carter earned a Masters in Sports Administration as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Texas Tech University.
