Episode 60:Teacher Megan McKenna Teaching: A Story within a Story within a Story.Megan in the first five minutes says something that completely changed the way I thought about worship.   The word " approach " its meaning and its connection to worship led me to a time of deep reflection.     Every Blessing  Archie and Cathy Agape Ministries.
This is a fantastic talk, Russ Parker shares with us a much-neglected teaching on the Fathers Blessing.  Jesus believed with all his heart and mind that he was beloved by God.He choose to believe that he was continually covered by the Father blessing. This belief brought him priceless understandings of identity worth and mission.Enjoy every moment of this talk, and daily enter into the experience of the Fathers blessing and provision for you.    Every Blessing. Stay safe and happy  Archie and Cathy.
In this episode, Father Pat encourages us to prayerfully and carefully find another person with whom we can share our innermost thoughts and feelings. For me, this is where the quality of Christian relationships becomes a beautiful reality. I invite you to imagine this situation. A person hears the freedom giving teaching of the gospel and commits themselves to the daily psychological, emotional and spiritual journey taken by Jesus. With this new self-understanding and confidence, we can begin to pay as much attention to the needs of others as we do to our own. Imagine then they meet another person committed to this way of thinking and living and plan to live there lives together.  Now, remember the promise that Christians commit to each other  "For Better or Worse, richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, until death takes us home."Is this an impossible dream? No. Is it easy?  No Is it worth it Absolutely.Stay safe and Happy  Archie and Cathy
John 15:15    I no longer call you servants, I call you friends.  Jesus tells us that friends share the deepest things in their lives.  Hopes, dreams, fears and failures. Where can we find friends like these, well that's what we set out to be as a community.Within our small imperfect community, we have a number of informal friendship groups who meet together, at times socialise together and share Christian conversation.  But we also have another smaller group of gifted listeners, who can listen without judgement or the need to fix peoples lives. These gifted listeners simply walk with people as they journey towards transformation, wholeness and the freedom to enjoy the wonderful gift of life.It is such a blessing to have these gifted mature Christians as part of our faith community.Stay safe Archie.
This is part two of Father Pats excellent teaching on Self Esteem.  Jesus baptism in the Jordan was his experience of the inner presence of Gods Spirit deep in his human nature. It is this experience that Jesus wants to share with us. Jesus daily invites us to allow Gods Spirit to dream of a new quality of human relationships, relationships in which Justice and Compassion are primary. Jesus invites us to commit our selves to forming small local communities living in this new way. Stay safe, Archie and Cathy
Fr Pat invites us to take 3 steps to free us from a poor self-image and low self-esteem.       1. Accept yourself   2. Be yourself  3. Forget yourselfThese steps set you free to ENJOY BEING YOUR NEW SELFEvery BlessingArchie and Cathy
When Jesus spoke about the human condition, he raised it to a whole new level. He spoke of humanity as a wonderful, beautiful creation of a wonderful and beautiful creator.  Our prayer is that this teaching helps you to think of yourself and others in this waybecause the immortal Spirit of God is in all things  The book of Wisdom 12:1Every Blessing.stay safe, healthy and happy  Archie and Cathy.
The Beatitudes:  The Beautiful attitudes. In this talk, Father Chris reminded me of an aspect of Matthews Gospel that I had completely forgotten.  I had forgotten that the writer of Matthews gospel believedJesus was the new Moses.Just as Moses led the people out of slavery from the Egyptian empire, an outer reality.  Now Jesus leads his people out of slavery to fear and violence, an inner reality.Jesus teaching on Metanoia, is just so good. It opens up for us a way to freedom. The freedom to trust God.The freedom of Faith:The freedom of Hope:The freedom of Love:Thank you, Chris, and thanks to the writer of the Gospel of Matthew
Luke 1:68-79  " To give light to those who live in darkness, the shadow of death, and to guide us in the way of peace" In this episode, number 16 in our series, we hear from a woman in Northern Ireland who heard the call to be involved in the Jesus way of peace. Through all the troubles, because of the gift of faith, she kept this precious dream of God alive and accessible, helping to form communities working for reconciliation and peace.
Part 2 of Charles talk is so good, his sharing of how, without any previous diplomatic contacts, he ends up on speaking terms with the top Vatican officials is just so mind-stretching.  Another great sharing is the story of the man who speaks in tounges in an ordinary church setting. The response of the congregation and then the blessing this gift brought into the life of the person it was given for and given too.    Just two of the many clear examples of how the Holy Spirit is at work in our world and in the Catholic Church today.  Enjoy.  Stay safe   Archie
Charles Whitehead is one of those people used by God to do wonderful things. From an office in the city of London to an office in the Vatican is a culture shiftthat not many business executives would imagine or desire.  But this is how the Holy Spirit changed the life of Charles.  A new life with a new set of goals and aspirations.
It's all about Human Progress and our Super Human PotentialWe are in the midst of a global pandemic and there is a very real need for global collaboration and cooperation. But can you really collaborate with people you just don't trust?    Jesus says Yes  ( Matthew 5:44-48).  Sr Helen Prejean heard these words of Jesus and put them into practice and by doing so was making the world a kinder and more forgiving place.Hear how this ordinary little nun allowed the supernatural power of forgiveness and compassion to flow through her, and helped her see the best in someone that others despised.
When Jim saw the two infallible signs of Repentance and Reconciliation, operate within the church, he experienced God is at work in that group of people.  Just imagine, God's Spirit blossoming in hearts and minds, renewing relationships, and bringing peace and justice to the world. Come Holy Spirit Bring it on!
Jim was minister of Gold Hill Baptist Church in Buckinghamshire from 1968 –1994.Described as one of the enthusiastic fathers of the modern charismatic renewal movement, he never wavered in his commitment to the person and work of the Holy Spirit. He encouraged many others to experience a new life in the Holy Spirit and membership of the church grew from 120 to over 600.
Patti Gallagher Mansfield was a participant in the historic Duquesne Weekend that marked the beginning of the Charismatic Renewal in the Catholic Church.  Patti says that there were only about 12 people in the Chapel that night, but that from that night, it's estimated that at least 120 million Catholics worldwide, and many many millions in other Christian denominations have also received the wonderful grace of the Baptism in God's Holy Spirit.  Listen to what the Spirit of God is doing in the world today across many branches of Christianity. Calling all those who follow Jesus to live lives of unity within the diversity of the Body of Christ, the experience of Pentecost.
During this talk, I could see that praise is like a shield, that everyday praise protects my Christian identity from those inner negative voices that keep repeating in my head.To help this become like a solid foundation in my heart and mind, I listen often to Lauren Daigle singing      " You say " check it out on YouTube.
In this episode Fr Ronald Rolheiser concludes his talk on bringing Gods consolation.
