In this episode we discuss observing readiness in our students to learn. We have a special guest, Dr. Lynette Scotese-Wojtila, to talk about observing signs of readiness in our learners.  Dr. Scotese-Wojtila co-hosts a bi-weekly podcast on those in the spectrum and others with neurological differences using an approach she coined called The S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Approach(SM). (We’ve linked the podcast and website below.)  Dr. Scotese-Wojtila is an Autism specialist, but notes that we all need to be in a state of readiness to learn in our classroom for lessons to truly take hold.  It is a great reflective episode as we talk about meeting our students where they learn to provoke in them the best that they have the potential to be.  Come learn with us!Music provided courtesy of HookSounds.com under the use and mention licenseBensounds (Royalty Free Music): https://www.bensound.com/Incomptech (Royalty Free Music): https://incompetech.com/music/Follow me on Facebook to get notifications about live events: https://www.facebook.com/TechStudyHall/Follow me on Twitter or Instagram: @DrSmith_EdtechWebsite: www.techstudyhall.orgYouTube: Tech Study Hall Channel - Be sure to like and subscribe. As Heard On the Show:Contact Dr. Lynette Scotese-Wojtila “Connect with S.U.C.C.E.S.S.” (podcast) https://www.thesuccessapproach.org/autism-podcast).  Website: https://www.thesuccessapproach.orgAutism Productions YouTube Page: https://www.youtube.com/user/awetismproductions

My special guest is Ann Radefeld from the Shaker Heights School District in Ohio where she teaches French to 5th & 6th graders while adding some real-world flair blending it with the best of technology. She makes a great case for making this a part of any subject in the curriculum with just a smidge of creativity and research. Many thanks to Ann for joining us on this episode. This episode is a reflection on the lessons I’m learning as a result of my teaching during this pandemic and thoughts to change the way we teach our 21st century learners.  I present a new set of 3R’s to focus on as we move beyond the pandemic to meet the needs of our learners today.  Let’s keep the conversation happening!  Reach out today to talk about what strategies you are using that are changing the landscape of learning today.  Tech or not, nothing is off of the table.  How are you evolving as a result of this pandemic?Music provided courtesy of HookSounds.com under the use and mention licenseBensounds (Royalty Free Music): https://www.bensound.com/Incomptech (Royalty Free Music): https://incompetech.com/music/Follow me on Facebook to get notifications about live events: https://www.facebook.com/TechStudyHall/Follow me on Twitter or Instagram: @DrSmith_EdtechWebsite: www.techstudyhall.orgYouTube: Tech Study Hall Channel - Be sure to like and subscribe. As Heard On the Show:Catlin Tucker Live Fall Cue 2019 Keynote: https://youtu.be/p6J0JB3g9Q4
Do you remember the awesomeness of PBS programming in the classroom when we were kids?  Maybe coming home to programs like the Electric Company and the iconic Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood?  PBS has been a creator for good, quality, and neutral content for decades and they are STILL here for us to enhance our lessons with amazing content.  This episode focuses in one on my favorite tools for teachers, the PBS Learning Media Library, and how you can easily find the content you might be looking for without the fear of YouTube commercials and scary content.  Enjoy! Music provided courtesy of HookSounds.com under the use and mention licenseBensounds (Royalty Free Music): https://www.bensound.com/Incomptech (Royalty Free Music): https://incompetech.com/music/Follow me on Facebook to get notifications about live events: https://www.facebook.com/TechStudyHall/Follow me on Twitter or Instagram: @DrSmith_EdtechWebsite: www.techstudyhall.orgYouTube: Tech Study Hall Channel - Be sure to like and subscribe. As Heard On the Show:PBS Learning Media Libraryhttps://ideastream.pbslearningmedia.org/
This is the final episode in the three episode arc of “Tech the Halls” where I feature my favorite follows. It was a rough one to put together because whatever this non-COVID bug that has been going around was getting me down, but whether it be podcasts, websites, blogs, or videos these pioneering and inspirational educators put it all out there to help better education every day sharing and collaborating with us. I didn’t want to leave 2020 without this quick and reflective episode. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
