Navigating the intricate dance of parenting without religious beliefs, we open up about our personal experiences and the heartfelt moments that have shaped our approach to raising children with a secular perspective. Joined by Kate Cohen, a columnist and author who champions the cause of non-believers, we explore the depth of morality, ethics, and community support in a life free from religious doctrine. Our conversation invites you to witness the balancing act between honoring family traditions and upholding our own convictions, all while nurturing our children's understanding of the world through a non-religious lens. With the arrival of our children came the daunting task of imparting values and answering the big life questions without the framework of religious stories. We share the transition from our own religious upbringings to embracing atheism, and the conscious choice to foster honesty over conformity. This episode isn't just about the absence of belief; it's a glimpse into the rich tapestry of human morality and ethics that exists outside the confines of religious texts. We delve into the innate nature of kindness and delve into discerning the world with curiosity and compassion. We round out our discussion by addressing the need for community and support, especially for women facing the dual challenges of caregiving for both children and aging parents outside traditional religious structures. Kate Cohen brings her own narrative of authenticity, emphasizing the importance of solidarity among non-believing individuals and the potential societal shift towards greater acceptance of atheism. Her insights are not just for the non-believer but for anyone interested in the broader implications of living a life grounded in secular humanism and ethical integrity. Join us for an episode filled with personal anecdotes and cultural references that will resonate with anyone on a journey toward understanding life's complexities beyond religion. Championing Women In Real Estate Leadership with Delara Aubon! I'm so thrilled to be joined by my good friend Delara Aubon, a powerhouse leader who champions the cause of women's leadership and progress in the Real Estate industry. In this episode: We discuss the many discrepancies and gender gap that exists in real estate investment, with men far more likely to participate in the market. The reasons for this disparity and how it is rooted in historical discrimination and unreasonable societal expectations. Why women are often disregarded when pursuing wealth-building investments, and often face more significant challenges when it comes to managing finances and real estate investments due to traditional gender roles and expectations. Delara shares her experiences and observations with me in this amazing chat. We note how important it is for us to address such inequalities and empower women to take control of their money and opportunities. My guest Delara Aubon is a dynamic real estate professional who champions the cause of women's leadership and progress in the Real Estate industry.  Delara's passion for mentorship and her commitment to closing the gender gap makes her an exceptional role model for women in real estate. Have you ever felt the pressure to conform to religious beliefs that didn't resonate with you? Kate Cohen, the author behind the strikingly candid "We Of Little Faith: Why I Stopped Pretending to Believe," joins us for an eye-opening discussion on the complex interplay between personal convictions and societal expectations. Her book is not just a title; it's a narrative that captures the struggle of authenticity versus fitting in. During our conversation, Kate delves into her own experiences with faith, or the absence thereof, and the liberating journey toward embracing her truth amidst a culture brimming with religious norms. This episode promises to be a sanctuary for those wrestling with their doubts in silence. Kate's story offers a relatable perspective on the cultural and familial pressures that shape our views on spirituality. She candidly shares the challenges and breakthroughs of acknowledging her non-belief and the importance of fostering dialogue about faith. As Kate opens up about the often-unspoken internal conflict many face, listeners are invited to reflect on their journeys and consider the freedom that comes with stepping out of the shadows. It's an affirmation that you're not alone and a testament to the power of living a life unbound by pretense. The Elatassi Duo tackles the questions everyone has about starting a house-flipping business.  Rusk and Alicia give you the ins and outs of all things house flips and sometimes flops! There is nothing quite like a husband and wife combo to make any business negotiation either seamless or quite nutty. What started as a pandemic pastime turned into four houses in 12 months. You should know that neither of us thought this was what we would be doing prior or post-pandemic. It was the result of an impasse in business that led us to purchase our first investment home, to then renovate and sell.  Today I am proud to say that today we have multiple houses and commercial centers in development.  Like the podcast? Healing Through Humor and Heartfelt Stories with Sandra Moreno Join me on this episode of Señora Vibes where we welcome the remarkable Sandra Moreno, author of the "Wives of Machismo" book series. Together, we uncover the shadows cast by machismo in domestic relationships, drawing from Sandra's poignant short stories that reflect the pain and resilience of women ensnared by controlling and abusive partners. We tackle the vital need for education on domestic violence, emphasizing the importance of instilling respect and love in our sons and daughters alike. Listen in as Sandra shares her insights, urging us to look beyond victim-blaming and understand the societal and familial threads that weave cycles of abuse and control.  Our conversation navigates beyond the surface of victim-blaming, delving into the need for a paradigm shift towards education and empathy in raising the next generation. Sandra's stories serve as a mirror reflecting the too-often hidden struggles many face, and her voice is a clarion call for change.
