In this episode I speak with Dan Larson, the founder of Gamut Strings. Gamut Strings makes strings for strings instruments, exclusively from gut, and with methods that try to replicate those used hundreds of years ago. String technology, like most things, has changed significantly since the 1700's but there is a thriving community of historical performance practice that uses these types of strings.  This episode was recorded on zoom, so the audio quality is a little lower than what I strive for, but I think it's still quite easy to understand. Many thanks to Dan for coming on the podcast - you can find more about Gamut here https://www.gamutmusic.com/ Many thanks to composer Korine Fujiwara for letting me use "Walkin' in the Water" for my background music More information about Korine, a brilliant composer, here https://korinefujiwara.com/ If you enjoy this podcast, you can support this and my other creative offerings at https://www.patreon.com/seizethescore
