Emily Campbell-Ross bravely shares her story of being raped by a man named Thomas Earle, he was found guilty and avoided jail time. This is her story.Collectively as a community when the news of this sentence was brought into mainstream media, the women of Australia were absolutely outraged to see that yet again, people who convict sexual crimes were not being held accountable for them and getting off on them in the face of good character references and 'supportive family'.Em and Madeleine go into detail in part 2 of the trial, Em's life following the assault and where she is today. We also incorporate as much laughter as possible - because if we don't laugh - we'll cry. So, hold onto your butts and join us for an enraging but important discussion.SIGN THE PETITION HERE ABC Article: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-04-29/rapist-thomas-earle-sentenced-to-three-years-ico/102278630The Project: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACX2gJtqiR8Connect with EmPersonal Instagram @emcambellrossCampaign Instagram @nojusticeincommunityserviceTo Connect with Reclaim MeVISIT OUR BRAND NEW WEBSITE HERE & subscribe to be a part of the Patreon CHEER SQUAD!To Connect with Madeleine ALL THE LINKS ARE HEREFor advice and support in Australia please reach out to: LifelineFor crisis support please reach out to LifelinePhone: 13 11 14Website: www.lifeline.org.au/13 YARN (13 92 76)If you, or someone you know, are feeling worried or no good, we encourage you to connect with 13YARN on 13 92 76 (24 hours/7 days) and talk with an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Crisis Supporter. 1800 RESPECTFor sexual assault and domestic abuse support services please reach out to 1800 RESPECTPhone: 1800 RESPECT - 1800 737 732Website: www.1800respect.org.auFor additional help and support / suggested resources for the UK, Canada, USA & New Zealand please see the 'Crisis Links' page on our websiteHERE Sign up for Bonus Content each week on Patreon! Matt joins Madi to discuss the sexual abuse he endured as a child at the hands of a Scout leader, the subsequent years of coping, healing and moving through to court system. As well as how we can support Matt v Scouts in his fight for justice now.Despite Matt’s abuser pleading guilty to charges of child sexual abuse, Matt is now facing bankruptcy for trying to hold Scouts NSW to account. Matt needs your help to continue his legal battle with Scouts NSW.Matt needs your support so other survivors can seek justice too.A win for Matt would set an important precedent that survivors could rely upon when seeking compensation from the organisations that failed to protect them from child sexual abuse. The costs order would be overturned, and all donated funds will be paid to other charities and organisations which support victims of sexual abuse. This was a truly amazing conversation, one that was so insightful and that will go so many a feeling of comfort to listen to, as so man will hear themselves in this.Support Matt Via the below links:Learn more about Matt's fight via this website link - https://www.mattvscouts.com.au/Donate to support the campaign via this link - https://chuffed.org/project/mattvscoutsConnect with Matt via Instagram https://www.instagram.com/matt1barker/To Connect with Reclaim MeVISIT OUR BRAND NEW WEBSITE HERETo Connect with Madeleine ALL THE LINKS ARE HEREFor advice and support in Australia please reach out to: LifelineFor crisis support please reach out to LifelinePhone: 13 11 14Website: www.lifeline.org.au/ 1800 RESPECTFor sexual assault and domestic abuse support services please reach out to 1800 RESPECTPhone: 1800 RESPECT - 1800 737 732Website: www.1800respect.org.auFor additional help and support / suggested resources for the UK, Canada, USA & New Zealand please see the 'Crisis Links' page on our websiteHERE Sign up for Bonus Content each week on Patreon! Madi is joined by Psychologist, AHPRA Board Approved Supervisor, March4Justice Director, Feminist and many other things Anastasia Sagris-Desmond! This is a really engaging discussion on all things system and advocacy related. We both get incredibly heated as we talk about ways we can see change happening, what we believe may be options to proceed and how justice is not all the common for so many. This was such an amazingly engaging conversation and I hope Anastasia joins us back again on the show to chat all things advocacy in the future!!To Connect with AnastasiaLinkedinTo Connect with Reclaim MeVISIT OUR BRAND NEW WEBSITE HERETo Connect with Madeleine ALL THE LINKS ARE HEREFor advice and support in Australia please reach out to: LifelineFor crisis support please reach out to LifelinePhone: 13 11 14Website: www.lifeline.org.au/ 1800 RESPECTFor sexual assault and domestic abuse support services please reach out to 1800 RESPECTPhone: 1800 RESPECT - 1800 737 732Website: www.1800respect.org.auFor additional help and support / suggested resources for the UK, Canada, USA & New Zealand please see the 'Crisis Links' page on our websiteHERE Sign up for Bonus Content each week on Patreon!
