Justice in any true crime case comes with a certain feeling of satisfaction, but there's something even more satisfying in seeing a cold case finally find justice.  Perhaps it's the validation of the fact that there is always hope; maybe it's seeing a family finally get the answers they have painfully sought for years and seeing them be able to finally move towards closure and healing; maybe it's both and more.  Join the Beer, Cheese, & Murder Gals as we honor an early podcast case request thanks to a police department and family that never gave up hope and finally found justice.

I’m sure Wisconsin isn’t the first place that comes to mind when you think about an area with a drug problem, but the sad reality is that drugs are a problem everywhere.  It often seems like a silent epidemic, something to mentally keep on the peripherals.  But even so, it has touched our lives.  Family and friends fall have fallen victim to addiction and there are far too many Facebook posts about people succumbing to their addictions and dying far too young.  So, join the Beer, Cheese, & Murder Gals, as we shed some light on the topic of drugs in Wisconsin.

The Prohibition and the Great Depression of the 1920s and '30s were lucrative times for outlaws like Al Capone and John Dillinger.  Outlaws that they were, they were often on the run, and that usually meant Wisconsin.  Wooded and rural, Wisconsin was popular among Chicago-based gangsters for its isolation, not to mention the convenient places to stash booze being smuggled in from Canada.  Join the Beer, Cheese, and Murder Gals as we scratch the surface of Wisconsin's gangster history!

With the continued advances in DNA technology and growing popularity of ancestry DNA, stories of decades old cold cases finally seeing resolution and long-awaited justice have swept across the nation.  For example, who hasn't heard about the identification of the infamous Golden State Killer after decades through ancestral DNA.  Join us to learn about another case from right here in Wisconsin, that of Traci Hammerberg, that was finally brought to closure through the wonders of ancestry DNA and an investigative team that refused to give up.

When one lives in a "safe" area, you never believe that something bad will happen, let alone a horrific crime with the power to haunt you forever.  In the Summer of 1990, the unincorporated town of North Cape was rocked by a truly horrific crime that left those involved with nightmares to this day.  With cows behaving oddly, a touch of satanic panic, events seemingly more likely to occur in the movies than in real life, and a connection to infamous serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, this case has it all.  In fact, this case shattered my sense of safety; will it shatter yours?
