Description

The Nerds got their Revenge, now what? That’s what comedians Holden McNeely, Mike Lawrence, and Jake Young are trying to figure out in the weekly combination tribunal/confessional “Nerd of Mouth.” Recorded from the dankest basement in the “Last Podcast on the Left” studios, we’re getting to the bottom of whether there’s more to life than any% WR videogame speedruns, limited edition action figures, and anime shows about ludicrously strong children beating each other up. Theme song by Grant Gordon, logo by Andy Kluthe.

I love Holden, probably my favorite LPN member, but his butthurt at the record clerk ribbing him about a Paramore album seems a little over sensitive

I'm really enjoying this so far! I'll miss the wizard and the bruiser episode topics but this will also do nicely.

You mentioned not knowing why the rangers would never summon their zords when they were outnumbered by a group of putties. One of the core rules set by Zordon of being a Power Ranger was that they were to "Never escalate a battle unless forced to". That's why they only ever summoned their zords AFTER the main enemy grew to a gigantic size!

These movies may have been made by boomers, but were made FOR genx. That's why they feel so bummer. Genx was raised in a soup of existential oblivionism. Most of genx was taught from early on that they'd be glowing ash by the time they hit 35. Not just nihilism, but annihilism. It's also why wasteland/Fallout was so popular. Hell, swords and sandals were probably so popular not because it looked like ancient fantasy to genx, but because it looked like the future to them.

It's creepy how similar this dude's early art career is to mine. My first book was a pop-up as well, and I also had a best friend who I made comic books with. Maybe I should have kept at it? Shit.
