#caitlinclark lark has given women an absolute surge in popularity. The NCAA Women's BBall final outranked the men's. But she and other draft picks will be making 70k+/year to play in the WNBA under her rookie contract. While @nike and others will take care of Caitlin with millions in endorsement $, other less accomplished professional women are stuck with their salaries as their only form of income. E-Mak & Rude Dog @TheRudeDogShow lay out why it's fair the way it is but acknowledge a shift coming. Kindly hit the SUBSCRIBE button! Feedback welcome. Like and subscribe--pay it forward! Caitlin Clark Karma!!
Two individuals have been charged with Second Degree Murder, two counts of Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon in the recent KC Parade shooting. Sadly, this senseless tragedy left one person dead and 22 wounded. According to prosecutors, more charges are expected to come. On the latest episode of "The Issues of Sports," E-Mak & Rude Dog had Kansas City 610-AM Host Bob Fescoe joins to discuss the impact of gun violence and domestic terrorism on public events. In this case, the shooting occurred during a joyful celebration of the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl victory, turning a glorious day into a nightmare. It's a sad reality that gun violence has crept into everything from grocery stores to championship parades. Innocent lives are taken for no reason, and we must ask ourselves if it's safe to attend any sort of crowd event without metal detectors? Let's come together and work towards a safer future for all. Our hearts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time. Quick podcast where we examine.
The Patriots are struggling. Bill Belichick is considered by most to be the Greatest NFL Coach of All-Time. But time has moved on, so has Tom Brady collecting a Super Bowl trophy in Tampa after leaving New England. The draft picks Belichick has made the last few years have mostly not panned out. Tom Curran of NBC Sports Boston has reported that about a month or so ago the Kraft family decided to not bring Belichick back. Whether that is true or not, does Belichick even want to return, does it make sense for him to return? Should he take the blame for the Pats lack of success and playoffs since Brady left. Or is sports cyclical and like Greg Poppovich in San Antonio who's been losing since his Hall of Famers retired, maybe Belichick hasn't lost a step at all. And where would be good destinations if he does part ways? Rude Dog and I wrap this episode of "Issues" discussing the Warriors Draymond Green's indefinite suspension from the NBA. What's next here? What constitutes being ready to return and what's going to happen to the likely Hall of Famer's legacy? Could he find himself not in the Hall of Fame? So many issues to discuss. Please subscribe, like, follow on your favorite platform!
Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce are a pair. She has seen the future Hall of Fame TE for the Kansas City Chiefs play a handful of times in person. Swift, who is among the biggest celeberties in the world, now is up close and personal with the sports world. And the sports media world is milking it for everything. Reportedly Chiefs writers are putting Swift in stories to increase SEO. Is this good, bad, or neither? Can you blame them? E-Mak & Rude Dog discuss The Taylor Swift Effect on the latest episode of The Issues of Sports.
After the NBA Finals concludes & before NFL regular season kicks off what is your feelings about the summer slow time in sports. E-Mak and Rude Dog discuss how they each digest when the games mostly fade to black and are there any events that are must watch summer TV exceptions.
Serbian born Nikola Jokic, who's a two-time regular season MVP, just led the Denver Nuggets to an NBA Title beating the Miami Heat 4-1 in the NBA Finals. Jokic put up historic playoff numbers and is a triple double machine. But most people they hadn't seen him play until now or still haven't. Jokic plays for Denver, and while technically ahead of the curve by far with his skills, his game doesn't have "Michael Jordan Sizzle". So from market size, franchise history, superstars, style of play, to the sport you play, and more E-Mak & Rude Dog explore in this short podcast the elements that attract the casual fan.
The greatest football & lacrosse player of all-time Jim Brown has passed away. He leaves behind a tremendous legacy as a player and civil rights activist. His accomplishments are many during his legendary life. That said, his legacy is clouded by several violent allegations that he abused women. He had multiple brushes with the law during his life. Unfortunately, this is part of the conversation. Grizzlies star Ja Morant is in the process of ruining his legacy and potentially throwing away his career. He's voluntarily 2x this year decided to wave a firearm on social media. While these are two completely different issues and circumstances, they both pollute the star's legacy. While there are levels of accountability, Brown, who did admit to having anger problems had to deal with legal issues, and now in his death at 87, the NY Times obituary sub-heading mentioned his violent past with women in the article, as well as many media outlets. Ja's accountability is coming as he is looking at a hefty suspension by the NBA. Can Ja see that no matter if you're the greatest of all time at your given sport, if violence or lawbreaking is part of your life, you will be held accountable, and it will affect your legacy? Rudy "Rude Dog" Reyes & I kick around how people are complicated on the latest episode of The Issues of Sports.
Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts just landed the largest contract in NFL history with the second most guaranteed $. A five year $255 million deal, while Ravens Signalcaller Lamar Jackson still can't get paid. Rude Dog & E-Mak examine the disparity as to why these QB are in different situations and their respective NFL organizations have divergent dispositions on their QB's.
CBS Sports College Basketball Studio Analyst Clark Kellogg joins "The Issues of Sports" with E-Mak & Rude Dog and discusses being in the studio with Charles Barkley & Kenny Smith, and how they adapt to college basketball. Kellogg weighs in on Jim Nantz final NCAA Tournament, as well as the late Billy Packer, and DIck Vitale. Plus he reveals his champ and who he likes to make some noise in the NCAA Tourney.
This podcast is dedicated to the loving memory of my mother Phyllis Ann Makovsky, who left us Thursday 2/16/23 at age 80 after a brave fight with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. I love you. You will be missed. With the 38-35 Chiefs win over the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII Patrick Mahomes is now a two-time Super Bowl Champion and two time Regular Season MVP. Brady has appeared in 10 Super Bowls and won seven. Is the fact we are already comparing Mahomes to Brady, who has had a torrid start to his career but is still light years behind Brady's accomplishments. Evan "E-Mak" Makovsky and Rudy "Rude Dog" Reyes roll this #issue around.
On the latest episode of "The Issues of Sports" Carlos Correa is a member of the San Francisco Giants. No wait he's signed with the New York Mets. Not true he's returning after all to be a member of the Minnesota Twins. What the hell is going on? He failed two physicals but passed another all under different contract terms. Whether arthritis in his once injured ankle down the road will rear its head or not, why is Mets owner Steve Cohen telling The New York Post that the Correa signing "puts us over the top" before the deal was done and the Mets doctors evaluated Correa? The answers to these questions lie inside this short podcast.
The last episode of "The Issues of Sports" in 2022 examines the NFL's Denver Broncos and the 2nd Highest Paid QB in the league at approx $49 million per year Russell Wilson. Wilson, likely still headed for Pro Football Hall of Fame, who they contracted last offseason has STUNK OUT LOUD since becoming a Bronco. The team's play has led to Broncos Head Coach Nathaniel Hackett being terminated in year one and Wilson's expensive future is in doubt. Since taking over Broncos interim HC Jerry Rosburg has let go their Special Teams and Offensive Line coaches. Rudy"Rude Dog" Reyes and myself dig deep as to what's gone wrong and how to fix.
In the latest episode of "The Issues of Sports" Evan "E-Mak" Makovsky and Rudy "Rude Dog" Reyes look closer at the tragic death of Grant Wahl at the World Cup in Qatar collapsing in the pressbox dying at age 48. Grant's brother has asserted that his brother did not die of natural causes. And we break down the Brittney Griner for Viktor Bout prisoner swap and the moving parts there.

We examine Albert Pujols legacy as he's now in the "700 HR Club." Pujols came back to the Cardinals for his final season, which has turned out to be a good one. Pujols is taking the Cardinals to the playoffs and then retiring. We look back at his decision to leave the Cardinals. We also discuss whether Aaron Judge should be considered the all-time single season HR King as he chases 62. We know who's ahead of him--Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, and Sammy Sosa. www.twitter.com/evanmakovsky

The suspension is more in line with what Evan expected, and he explains why. Can Watson return to the player he was after his suspension? It's discussed. What should we expect in Week 13 when Watson returns as the Browns play in Houston to take on Watson's former team the Texans?
