While we strive to ensure every guest has an excellent stay, things can, do, and will go wrong from time to time. We will always do our best to make things right (within reason). Thank you for listening and please, share this with your friends!In this episode, we discuss guest red flags (behaviors, lack of credit, etc.), the wrong way to appear for a job interview (and a few suggestions on how to prepare) and bogus service animals.It is important to remember that hotel associates are trained to look for shady behavior. From issues at registration to behavior of the guest and those in their party to how the reservations are made, the staff is aware of what is going on. Don't be shady.Job hunting can be difficult, but be prepared. Dress for the position, show up on time and, for the love of God, dress and interview for the position like you really want the job... a job interview is NOT the right time/place to get TikTok followers :-(Service animals are a key part of many peoples daily lives and survival. In this episode we discuss service animals and how claiming your emotional support animal isn't the same thing, especially when you are simply trying to avoid a pet fee. Those who try, aren't fooling the hotel and only making things that much more difficult for those with legit service animal needs.
Rules are interesting. People want others to follow them, until they don't want to follow them. That's not how it works. In the service industry, we have rules to ensure all guests/customers are treated fairly and consistently... such as those pesky things like check in and check out times, charges for smoking and damages. When you stay in a hotel, rent a car, take a cruise, etc. and decide you are going to abuse the rental, expect the charges... and they won't be cheap. Rules.If Check in is 4pm, and early check in is 1pm, not 3am. Rules. Check out is 11am, a late check out? 12pm. Again, rules.Smoking? In designated areas. RulesIn this episode, we dig into some of the reasons as to "why" there are rules and how we apply them. While the rules may not always be convenient, please know, they are not arbitrary and are there to ensure we treat each and every guest the same way.
