When you think about coaching, what comes to mind? Most people focus on the transformation - the big changes, the bold actions, the new outcomes. And while those are undoubtedly powerful, today, I’m pulling back the curtain on something even more impactful. In this episode of Our Stories Within, I share what I believe is the true magic of coaching - and it’s not what most people expect. It’s about creating a space so safe, so free of judgment, that you can finally let your guard down and just be. Because when you allow yourself to show up fully, raw and unfiltered, everything begins to shift. I’ll share stories from recent coaching sessions that highlight how this kind of safety isn’t just healing - it’s transformative. We’ll explore: Why it’s not always about solving problems or setting goals The real reason vulnerability unlocks clarity and courage How the right support system can help you face the unspoken truths you’ve been avoiding Why creating a non-judgmental space is the foundation for meaningful change If you’ve ever wondered what truly makes coaching life-changing - or if you’re curious about how to move beyond surface-level progress - this episode will open your eyes to what’s possible when you feel deeply seen and supported. If you’re ready to experience this kind of support for yourself, I’d love to invite you to book a connection call. It’s a chance to explore whether coaching is the next step in your journey - and to start building the space for your transformation. Welcome back to Our Stories Within! In today’s quick yet powerful episode, I’m sharing a message inspired by recent coaching sessions and my own life’s whirlwind. As I stand on the brink of a major move, I’ve been reflecting on how easy it is to let busyness and the endless hustle take over our lives. This episode is an invitation to pause and ask yourself the big questions: What do you actually want? How do you want to spend your time? And how can you protect that time against the pressures of ‘busy’? In this episode, I dive into: Why busyness and hard work are often worn as badges of honor, but might actually be holding you back The difference between being ‘successful’ and being fulfilled How to make space for what matters most without letting guilt or resistance get in the way Practical steps to reclaim your schedule and align your time with your values The challenge of moving from over-scheduling to intentional, joyful living This episode is your reminder that it’s not just about what you’re doing; it’s about how you’re living. Let’s make sure you’re not missing out on the life you truly desire by letting busyness crowd out what’s essential. Looking for more support? Start asking the right questions and choose a life that’s vibrant, joyful, and wholly yours.
Are you feeling overwhelmed by a packed schedule or a relentless pace of life? In this episode, I’m sharing the powerful question that has completely changed how I approach even my busiest days. This one small shift has helped me stay present, find joy, and move through life with more ease - even when juggling an international move, family commitments, and a demanding workload. I’ll walk you through how this question has supported me and why it could be the game-changer you need for your own life. In this episode, I explore: How a simple mindset shift can make even the busiest days more fulfilling The importance of small, intentional actions that elevate daily life How to prioritize moments for yourself amidst the chaos My favourite ways to incorporate self-care into busy days - subtle but impactful Why finding joy in the little things can change how you end your day, no matter what challenges arise If you’re feeling weighed down by a never-ending to-do list, this episode will remind you that a small shift can make a world of difference. Ever feel like life has you constantly in motion, with no time to pause, reflect, or just be with yourself? In this episode of Our Stories Within, I dive into the surprising power of intentional alone time. While a recent episode was about seeking support, today’s episode explores the flipside: the essential moments when going solo can offer profound clarity, creativity, and connection. Whether you’re navigating high-stakes professional decisions or simply trying to reconnect with your personal path, spending intentional time alone can be transformational. I share insights from my coaching sessions this week, showing how this practice can be just as crucial for executive leaders as it is for individuals looking to ground themselves in their personal lives. We explore: Why intentional alone time can unlock solutions that busyness keeps hidden The difference between distraction and true solitude How to “zoom out” from the noise and check in with yourself on a deeper level Simple steps to create more meaningful solo time that nourishes rather than drains Practical prompts to help you tap into your inner voice, even when life feels chaotic If you’re feeling pulled in too many directions or constantly plugged into other people’s needs, this episode is a reminder that reconnecting with yourself is not a luxury but a necessity. Join me as we unpack why solitude - when used wisely - can be one of the most powerful tools to guide you toward a life that feels aligned and fulfilling. Looking for more support? Do you ever find yourself saying, “Let me think about that,” or “I’ll get back to you,” only to end up carrying the mental load alone? If so, today’s episode of Our Stories Within is just for you! We’re diving into the tendency many of us have to figure things out solo—and how this habit might actually be slowing you down and adding unnecessary pressure. What if doing things together could get you further, faster? In this episode, we explore how bringing others into your decision-making process can lead to quicker, clearer solutions and less stress. Today, we’re discussing: The common pattern of overthinking and how it impacts your mental load How to recognize when doing it alone is costing you time and energy The benefits of collaborative problem-solving and external processing Simple strategies to shift from solo decision-making to supported action The power of having a coach or a trusted person in your corner to accelerate clarity and ease Remember, you don’t have to carry it all alone. How often do you pay attention to the way you talk to yourself? Could those everyday thoughts be holding you back more than you realise? In today’s episode of Our Stories Within, I’m joined by the incredible Joanne Bell, a fellow coach and advocate for transformational self-talk. Joanne shares her powerful story of moving from harsh self-criticism to loving self-talk, and how making this shift changed her life and opened up possibilities she never thought were possible. In this episode, we discuss: How to identify the hidden self-talk patterns that could be limiting you The simple, yet powerful technique Jo used to pull herself out of the darkest moments of her life Why transforming self-talk isn’t about being positive How self-talk impacts every part of your life, from personal growth to decision-making A practical journaling exercise to help you get started on shifting your inner dialogue today How Joanne and I use self-talk to reframe doubt and fear into self-support so we can take bold action in life If you’ve ever wondered how to break free from negative self-talk or felt overwhelmed by that inner critic, this episode will give you the tools to start changing your relationship with yourself - and your life. How do you respond to change in your life? More specifically, how do you handle changes within yourself that you may not even notice? In today’s episode of Our Stories Within, I’m guiding you through a reflection on the personal shifts we often overlook—the ones where our behavior has changed, but our self-image hasn’t quite caught up yet. This lag in recognizing who we’ve become can hold us back from fully embracing the growth we’ve already created. I’m diving into: The phenomenon of change lag and how it can keep us stuck in old stories Why reflecting on and celebrating growth is crucial in solidifying change A beautiful client transformation, illustrating the power of letting go of past limitations and fully stepping into the new self How to navigate the space between who you were and who you are becoming with intentionality and grace The journey of personal growth doesn’t just happen overnight—it’s a process of unhooking from old patterns and welcoming in the new you. And trust me, the rewards are beautiful, surprising, and liberating. If you’re finding yourself stuck between the old version of you and the new one you’re becoming, let this episode be your reminder that change is possible, and it’s already happening. Celebrate it, reflect on it, and let go of any lingering self-perceptions that no longer serve you. Looking for more support? Do you often judge others? Is that ok? What might it mean about you? And why does it feel so icky when you realise that’s what you’ve been doing? These are the questions we’re exploring today! Two clients brought their experiences of judging others to our coaching sessions this week, so I’m bringing those conversations to you. Whilst on one level, judgement of others is very predictable. It’s story time and I’m celebrating the delivery on a promise I made to myself 10 years ago! I’m sharing a little bit about my journey through coaching, from a place of feeling a bit lost and unsure of who I was becoming to finding direction and delivering on my dreams. I know I’m not alone in how I felt pre-coaching. I was changing, what I wanted was changing, and my self-worth was being challenged at every corner. But from a place that felt so lonely at the time, the most magical things have happened! In today’s episode of Our Stories Within, I’m sharing: How I went from feeling lost to finding my spark again The moments (and people) along the way that held space for me The doubling down on a dream The promise I made myself 10 years ago and how that could help you today! To find out all about the amazing space created just for you and fellow inspiring women, head over to our shiny new CL Collective webpage! Have you ever slowed down enough to realise that everything you’re working towards, everything you’ve wanted to be, do, or see is already here? We’re so often running towards a future goal but have you ever stopped to ask yourself exactly where you’re running to? Or what it will look like and feel like when you get there? Being specific with how it would look and feel can open us up to the fact that we may already be enjoying some of the success we’re striving for. Right here, right now. And we’re robbing ourselves of enjoying that success! I get it - it can be hard to give yourself permission to take joy and light in life when there’s so much pain and suffering around us. I’m here today to encourage you to hold both - both buoyancy, lightness, and joy, as well as pain. Today’s episode of Our Stories Within is your guide on how to do just that. We’re exploring: The importance of examining what you’re running to (or from!) in the invisible race against yourself Examples of how to release and regulate when the world is dragging you down A timely quote from Tony Robbins How to be in a loving relationship with yourself Getting crystal clear on your finish line to bring everyday wins to the here and now and stay aligned in the face of adversity For support on building a compassionate relationship with yourself, or getting clear on what your finish line looks like, the Chasing Lobsters coaches and I are here to guide you every step of the way through our wonderful group coaching: The CL Collective I’d love to hear if this (slightly gloomier than usual!) episode resonated with you and feedback is always welcomed and taken with love at: georgie@chasinglobsters.com You can also connect with me here: On Instagram: https://instagram.com/chasinglobsters On Facebook: https://facebook.com/chasinglobsters On the web: www.chasinglobsters.com Apply to be coached on the podcast: https://www.chasinglobsters.com/podcast Learn more about coaching: https://www.chasinglobsters.com/coaching Book a connection call with me: https://www.chasinglobsters.com/contact
Managing energy is a constant battle! We often feel we need to keep going, keep doing, keep ticking things off the list. But if we don’t manage our energy it can lead to stress, overwhelm, burnout, injury, and illness. No thank you! My energy level is screaming at me to keep things simple today. So that’s exactly what I’m going to do! I’m inviting you to do the same and gift yourself the kindness of listening to your energy and what you need (and don’t need!). Today’s episode of Our Stories Within will be exploring: A simple exercise to highlight your taps and your drains Examples of all the good things that charge me up - one recently highlighted during a day with the WI! How you can manage your schedule to make the most of your changing energy levels The one question to ask yourself to help keep your energy charged and protected To read more about managing your energy through foods or your menstrual cycle, grab yourself a copy of these two must-reads: Fast Like a Girl by Dr Mindy Pelz and In the Flo by Alisa Vitti. Resistance. It gets in the way, blocking us from being who we want to be or doing what we want to do. And it’s a sneaky little thing! Unfortunately, coming up against resistance is a natural part of the process of self-development and it presents itself in all kinds of yucky ways. You go about your life making the same pattern of choices time and time again even when you don’t want to, unaware of whatever’s creating resistance and preventing you from making choices more aligned to who you want to be. Frustrating isn’t it?! Today’s episode of Our Stories Within is a simple hack (or rather a broader understanding!) of resistance so you can manage it - and stop it in its tracks - until you’ve done the deeper, inner work to keep it in check completely! We’re discussing: How to recognise patterns of resistance How resistance can present itself in your brain, body, and behaviour An example of how resistance shows up in my life every single Wednesday 🤦♀️ (I’m working on it!) Your two-step hack to take the power away from resistance and move beyond it The yummy benefits from addressing the resistance in your life! What have you been putting off or taking for granted? Shame be gone - we all do it! Health, fitness, a relationship, a job, leadership skills… we can take them all for granted. But if we neglect certain arenas too much, it may come back to bite us in the bottom. And it can hurt! I’m airing my embarrassment today and sharing the thing I’ve been neglecting recently (and for longer than I care to admit!) and how it came back to bite me! The potential future consequences of taking these things for granted are often far greater than tackling the hurdle here and now. And sometimes those hurdles are actually little molehills, my friends! Today's episode of Our Stories Within is your prompt to re-engage with whatever you’ve been taking for granted. We’re exploring: How to identify arenas in your life that you’re taking for granted or neglecting The stories you’re telling yourself that are giving you the permission to take that thing for granted Questions to ask yourself to identify where else it might be happening and what you can do about it How to prioritise all the balls you’re juggling so you don’t drop the glass balls! How we can use this information to tell us where to deposit our attention, time, energy, and commitment And a little bit of accountability (see below!) If today’s episode has resonated, don’t feel you have to solo it! Use me as your very own accountability coach over on Instagram https://instagram.com/chasinglobsters and tell me: The thing today’s episode highlighted you’re taking for granted The commitment/action you’re taking to change the needle The date by which you’re going to do it! Too much time is occupied by our inner critics and not enough time given to our inner advocates. Too often do I hear ‘I need to get better at X’ or ‘I’m not very good at Y’ without dedicating equal airtime to celebrate (and appreciate!) our strengths… something that has as much - if not more - importance in our journey of growth! So, today, my friends, I ask you: What are you already doing really well? Let’s acknowledge those innate gifts that live deep inside you and come so naturally to you. And let’s polish them up so they shine even brighter! As a counter to last week’s episode of Our Stories Within exploring bouncing back from ‘failure’, today's episode is recognising and celebrating our greatest qualities to help us grow. We’re diving into: Healthy Vs Toxic Drive The discomfort of receiving and accepting compliments! Exercises I use within my 360° Performance Reviews and how you can apply them to finding your own strength blind spots A simple exercise you can use to discover, celebrate, and leverage your strengths so you can go out into the world and shine! When something doesn’t go our way it’s easy to beat ourselves up, feel like a failure, and create ‘truths’ based on what’s happened. And sometimes those ‘truths’ can be downright mean! The reality is, when you’ve had the wind knocked out of your sails, you have two options: you can let that ‘failure’ define you, OR you can learn from it, bounce back, and bounce forward! So, how do you guide yourself away from self-criticism and limiting thoughts and towards a place of learning, self-development and growth? In today’s episode of Our Stories Within, I’m here to share with you the 4 step process I use with myself, my clients, and even my kids, when things don’t quite go to plan! Along the way we’ll be discussing: Fixed Vs growth mindsets How to discover where your fracture lines are The difference between guilt and shame The importance of bringing heaps of compassion to the process And much more! What nourishes your soul? Walking? Getting out in nature? Cooking? Coffee with friends? Sex? We all try to set up and keep habits that feed us, make us feel alive, or heal us. But often, these habits slowly become a tick in the box, we start to multi-task, or they drop by the wayside completely. How many times have you gone for a dog walk to get away from it all and soak in nature, only to make a phone call, check emails, or listen to a podcast? Our time is a precious commodity, something we don’t get back. If you decide to invest your time in something that brings you joy, I’m imploring you to squeeze every little last drop of juice out of that joy! I want you to feel every single benefit. So, what’s the key to maximising that joy? Presence! In today’s episode of Our Stories Within, we’re diving into: What brushing my teeth in the shower made me realise about my cold-shower habit! Live a life that lights you up! I know, I know - life happens and things get in the way. Our dreams can be shelved by changes in responsibilities, changes in circumstance… or a pandemic! The world is a beautiful place and it’s at your feet - so give your life your best shot! After all, as my darling Dad always said, the world is your Lobster! Today, I’m reminding you of: The dangers of boxing yourself in When to chase your dreams and when to let them go The difference between giving up and letting go The place from which decisions are made - empowerment, choice, and love or fear and self-abandonment The importance of grieving a dream not met What happens when we deny ourselves our truest desires and self-expression (spoiler alert - it’s not great!) Are you flaky? Or is it that you’re flexible? And what determines if that’s a good thing or not? There’s a richness to life when you allow your growth and natural shape-shifting to redirect you on your path. The question is, how do you do that without mindlessly bailing on your commitments or abandoning the hopes you hold for your future? At the time of year when most New Year goals come to crunch point, and the ammunition for criticism and shame is plenty, I prompt you to consider what it’s all about anyway. How can you find freedom from the rigid patterns that tell you ‘stick to the plan’, to take iterative steps toward the life you want to be living? That’s exactly what we’re digging into today. I’m exploring; The difference between being flaky and flexible The importance of having your ‘North Star’ and how to find yours How your so-called ‘failures’ are invaluable to finding direction The importance of radical honesty when it comes to growth The role criticism plays in achieving goals And so much more! We are 40 episodes in! Can you even believe it? 40 episodes of encouraging one another, challenging ourselves to more intention, and questioning what it is we really want for the one life we get to live. 40 episodes of learning more about ourselves and the journey we’re on together, as strong, powerful, professional women. And today’s episode is no different. I’m about to be taking a break from work and many of us are going on holiday this season, so this is the perfect time to take a pause and set an intention for our time away from our routines. Before you start packing or before you get to where you’re going, take a moment with me. I’m sharing three key questions to ask yourself before you set sail so you can return feeling ready, rested, and fulfilled. Let’s go! I’m exploring: What my intention is for my family trip coming up and how I plan to achieve this How one client set out to have more fun on holiday and what that looked like for her Why setting a priority for your break can actually allow you to let go of the rest How these questions work for non-break times as well (yoga sessions, meetings, lunch time, weekends, you name it - it works!) Is it okay to be emotional? Is it okay to let it out? Should we really be regulating our emotions constantly and what emotions, if any, deserve to be expressed? This week on Our Stories Within, I’m navigating my own feelings, my own emotional story within and inviting you to tag along. My family is approaching a period of change as we prepare for a big move, and I’m not going to lie: there’s been a wave of different emotions. This experience, combined with a recent client session, has me thinking: how many of us have been taught to suppress our emotions, to minimize them, or to regulate them to the point of not feeling anything? Whether you’re an emotional person letting it out every day or bottling it up tight as can be, or whether you consider yourself level-headed and unemotional, come explore with me! Life is meant to be lived and I think we’ll find out that includes feeling our feelings. I’m exploring: Our lifelong training of “safe” emotions and those we’re taught to keep inside Why it’s good to meet your emotions with understanding and compassion How suppressing the anger means suppressing the joy Why minimizing emotions can lead to feelings of “blah” about everything How emotion suppressing is tied to our ability to receive compliments And much more emotional goodness!
