Welcome back! THANK YOU for the love last week. It’s so good to be back in the swing of podcasting. Time for Episode 2, woo! Charleen Murphy is my friend this week. What a gorgeous gal, in every sense of the word. We chatted about influencing, TikTok hate, victim blaming and so much more. Our resident girlo Aisling Bonner joins me and proposes the concept of Doireann and Foes. I think you’ll enjoy!  Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
I am so excited for this new season of Doireann and Friends! Old friends, new friends, new set…it’s all happening. Pam is back and because we haven't had a proper catch up in ages, there was quite a lot to get through. I wanted to hear about her first couple holiday and she wanted to hear about how Mark managed to surprise me with his proposal (I don’t actually know if she wanted to hear but I told her anyway)... And there was still time for a catch up with Laughs of Your Life alumni, and the true icon that is Trinny Woodall! Donncha’s back (by, genuinely, popular demand). With the men’s Rugby World Cup on the horizon, he gave us some useful conversation starters tailor-made for those jumping on the rugby bandwagon. We’ve all done it!And Eugene Garrihy joins us to chat about his recent BBQ emergency, the unique magic of the Irish pub and his much sought after views of the world. I’m convinced he’s waited this long so he could say, ‘Well, you left the best to last, Doireann’. 😂 We certainly did, Euge!Doireann and Friends is brought to you by F&F Fashion at Tesco. Siobhan Byrne from BodyByrne Gym dropped by to talk about ways people can create healthy habits around the food they eat and exercise. And Allison Keating is in to discuss how to deal with ghosters, haunters and breadcrumbers. Doireann and Friends is brought to you by F&F Fashion at Tesco. *Finally*, Donncha O’Callaghan makes his Doireann and Friends debut! He reckons he was behind Bertie in the pecking order to appear on the show (I won’t lie it was a toss up).And Clare is back for some mother/daughter reminiscing some of which is cringeworthy!Doireann and Friends is brought to you by F&F Fashion at Tesco. Pamela Joyce was in and we chatted about how the sex ed she got in Galway, and I got in Dublin, was actually pretty similar - confusing, vague and awkward. 😳And Allison Keating is in to advise a listener whose friend group has begun to splinter with the arrival of other halves and kids.Doireann and Friends is brought to you by F&F Fashion at Tesco. Paula Callan is back by popular demand, and we got down to talking about some make-up tips: five essential products that she couldn’t do without, and also some brilliant advice on applying foundation like a pro. And our resident psychologist, Allison Keating drops in to give advice to a listener who wants to explore kink with her partner.Doireann and Friends is brought to you by F&F Fashion at Tesco. Pam dropped in wearing her brand new SKIMS, and she gave a no-holds-barred review of the pros and cons of ‘her new babygrow’. Don't be surprised if you happen to bump into Pam on the golf course practicing for the Pro-Am in August. She filled us in on her priceless 'ten years of service' golf club plan. 😂And the hostess with the mostest, AKA Clare Garrihy swung by to advise on how careful preparation, the right serving dishes, and dunking absolutely everything into port maketh a great dinner party.Doireann and Friends is brought to you by F&F Fashion at Tesco. Marks tells us about how he tried to overcome his nervousness about flying with the help of a course called Flying With Confidence. He says that one three people have a fear of flying. Did he receive a sympathetic ear? Not so much after he happened to bring his ex into the conversation. And make-up artist extraordinaire, Paula Callan called in to the studio for a chat. Paula has been there on so many big moments in my career, and it was so nice to catch up. She had us in stitches telling us about the (booze-related) pitfalls that await even the most organised brides on their big day! Doireann and Friends is brought to you by F&F Fashion at Tesco. Ten minutes in the company of Pamela Joyce and you are guaranteed to be laughing. We had a great chat about how we are absolutely 100% slowly morphing in to versions of our moms, and there’s nothing we can do to stop it! Also, big titty committee or long leg league?! Or some other committee/group/movement that we need to be filled in on....And Ailbhe was in to tell us what it has been like going from a mom of one to a mom of two since the arrival of little Fionn earlier this year. She has some tips for mums-to-be on how to avoid pregnancy detection in the early weeks when you’re still trying to keep it under wraps!Doireann and Friends is brought to you by F&F Fashion at Tesco. Back by popular demand, two returning guests! Mark is in and we got stuck into the realities of domestic bliss. He has *interesting* kitchen habits, so it's great to have the forum to air them  'The Roast of Mark Mehigan' is what he's calling it.And I got such a huge reaction to Allison Keating’s appearance on last week’s episode so we had to have her back to answer listener questions. Allison just brings calm wherever she goes. Doireann and Friends is brought to you by F&F Fashion at Tesco. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
We're having so much fun making the show and it's great to hear that you guys are enjoying it. On this week's podcast, on the 20th anniversary of Dangerously in Love, Ailbhe dropped in to chat about what HRH Queen Bey means to us. And I also chatted with psychologist Allison Keating about relationship warning signs. Alison is amazing, so wise and calming. I think you're going to love what she has to say.Doireann and Friends is brought to you by F&F Fashion at Tesco Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Welcome back! We finished on a cliffhanger last week so first up this week, Mark and I delve into who our mutual *confidante* was and how they helped make the match. Oh, and Mark explains how you surf a fart. Brilliant. In keeping with the theme of *confidantes*, my great pal and colleague Carl Mullan joins us this week too. We took the time in studio to discuss our other colleague Donncha O’Callaghan, and the massive pain in the hole he is. Therapy. (Don’t worry, he’d be the first to admit it).Doireann and Friends is brought to you by F&F Fashion at Tesco Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
I can't believe we're finally here! This podcast is something I’ve been thinking about, planning, teasing for months and now I’m so glad to be kicking off. On this first show, the wonderful Pamela Joyce is in to chat about “the fours thinking they're nines” and other problems with Irish dating apps. I’m also joined by bae (aka Mark Mehigan). We thrash out our origin story and attempt to get to the bottom of who “smoked” who. Doireann and Friends is brought to you by F&F Fashion at Tesco. as a hcw, there is definitely trauma from covid across the board. yes it's nurses and doctors but as a medical sec, we are burnt to the ground. most don't even realise it. no counselling offered by work, just a huge increase in workload and a covid is over attitude. exhausted.
