Great journalism: not getting the emotional response you expected, must mean that the father doesn't understand the situation. The whole family is being polite by not saying that the daughter was a dumbass for letting this go on for so long. Okay, she fell for a scam - why did it take a decade for her critical thinking to kick in?

LOL does she honestly believe she's not gullible, after being in a relationship with someone who she didn't speak to irl for almost a DECADE? They didn't even videocall!! This woman is delusional and desperate for romance, why else would this go on for so long.

Omg I can't. Who in their right mind has a long-distance relationship for almost a decade, but never asks the other to turn on the webcam when they're skyping? And after 8 years accepts the "I'm not ready yet" excuse to not meet when they're supposedly in the same city? She was delusional and an easy target, which her catfish knew.
