After another weekend of fun in Serie A, the pod is back to chat through the best bits - and the worst bits - of Matchday 22 as Napoli continue to storm their way toward their first Scudetto since the days of Diego Maradona. The leaders beat a still-winless Cremonese at the Maradona, and AC Milan even got a win themselves! Atalanta beat Lazio to take advantage of AS Roma's slip at Lecce as well. That and more on this week's pod with Kev and Vito joining Conor.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/forzaitlianfootball. The Serie A title race never existed, and it’s certainly not going to start now. Jose Mourinho was right, and Napoli’s 2-1 win over his AS Roma side only served as the latest evidence that the Partenopei will comfortably win the scudetto this season. To talk through that game and an eventful Matchday 20, Conor Clancy is joined by Euan Burns, Kev Pogorzelski and Vito Doria. The action didn’t stop in Naples - AC Milan lost 5-2 at home to a Sassuolo previously without a win in eight, Juventus lost at home to Monza, Inter fell behind before beating Cremonese, Lazio slipped up against Fiorentina, and Atalanta won at home to Sampdoria. Matchday 19 brought the Serie A season to its midway point, and it came after the season’s most standout off-field moment so far as Juventus were hit with a 15-point deduction. To follow it, they drew 3-3 in a stunning game against Atalanta in Turin. To talk through that and all the rest of the action, Conor Clancy has Kevin Pogorzelski, Vito Doria and Euan Burns by his side. Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/forzaitlianfootball. Serie A Matchday 18 was yet another thriller, with Napoli thumping Juventus 5-1 to get it started, and Atalanta even scoring eight goals in a demolition of Salernitana. The weekend’s weirdest moment came in Turin as Kevin Spacey appeared at Torino’s loss to Spezia, and there was plenty more action for us to get our teeth into as well. We had Alasdair Mackenzie at AS Roma’s win over Fiorentina, Conor Clancy at Lazio’s win at Sassuolo, and Alessandro Bai in place to watch Inter beat Verona. Conor has a full house with him on the pod and is joined by Kev Pogorzelski, Euan Burns and Vito Doria. Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/forzaitlianfootball. Hosted on Acast. Matchday 17 of the 2022/23 Serie A season gave us a host of late goals, and a number of big teams being really silly at the end of their games. To chat through the action, Euan Burns is joined by Kev Pogozelski and Vito Doria. Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/forzaitlianfootball. Hosted on Acast. Serie A Matchday 13 was packed full of action and surprises, with neither the Rome Derby nor the Derby d’Italia going as expected as Lazio beat Roma and Juventus won over Inter.Elsewhere, Napoli won at Atalanta to pull further clear at the top, and AC Milan moved into second with their own dramatic win.Conor Clancy, Euan Burns, Vito Doria and Kevin Pogorzelski are here to chat through all of the weekend’s games ahead of a midweek round.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/forzaitlianfootball. Serie A Matchday 12 proved to be a lot more action packed than we had anticipated, with both AC Milan and Lazio stumbling to surprise losses against Torino and Salernitana respectively. That meant that both Napoli and Atalanta took advantage in the top four, with Inter and Juventus also winning. To chat through it all, Conor Clancy is joined by Euan Burns, Kevin Pogorzelski and Vito Doria. Serie A Matchday 11 was packed full of yet more drama, nowhere more than in Inter's 4-3 win over Fiorentina in Florence. Elsewhere, Napoli passed a big test to beat AS Roma and stay top, while Lazio won at Atalanta without Ciro Immobile. To talk through all of that and the rest of the Serie A results, Conor Clancy is fresh back from Fiorentina 3-4 Inter to host the pod and he's joined by Euan Burns, Kevin Pogorzelski and Vito Doria. Matchday 10 of the 2022/23 Serie A season has been and gone without all that much changing in the Italian top flight. Napoli and Atalanta both continued their form at the top with wins over Bologna and Sassuolo respectively, and we’ve got a full house of Conor Clancy, Euan Burns, Kev Pogorzelski and Vito Doria on the pod to chat through it all. AC Milan managed to climb above Lazio by beating Hellas Verona on Sunday night. The Biancocelesti were only able to manage a 0-0 draw with fellow high-flyers Udinese on Sunday afternoon.Saturday started off with Empoli getting a 1-0 win over Monza. The Derby della Mole followed and whilst it did not entertain the masses, Juventus got a 1-0 win thanks to Dusan Vlahovic’s goal. The final game on Saturday saw Atalanta come from behind to beat Sassuolo 2-1 in Bergamo. On Sunday, Inter continued their return to form by beating Salernitana 2-0. The afternoon matches saw the 0-0 draw between Lazio and Udinese, a 2-2 draw between Spezia and Cremonese, and then Napoli’s 3-2 win over Bologna. The day was rounded off by Hellas Verona being beaten 2-1 at home by AC Milan, where Sandro Tonali scored a late winner.Monday night saw Sampdoria lose at home to AS Roma and then Fiorentina drew away at Lecce.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/forzaitlianfootball. Serie A Matchday 9 saw two of the heavyweights meet as Juventus travelled to San Siro, only to put up a feeble fight against AC Milan. Elsewhere there were wins for Inter, Napoli and AS Roma. Euan is hosting once again and he's joined by Vito chat through the action. Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/forzaitlianfootball. Hosted on Acast. There was another weekend of entertaining Serie A fixtures and the table has been shaken up again. There were wins for AC Milan, AS Roma, Juventus, Napoli and Atalanta but Inter lost again which puts even more strain on Simone Inzaghi. Euan is hosting in Conor’s absence and he is joined by Kev and Vito to chat through the action. Be sure to like the show and share it far and wide. Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/forzaitlianfootball. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
We're back to talk through another wild weekend of Serie A, and it's undoubtedly the craziest we've had in this season so far. For the first time since 1955, AC Milan, Inter, Roma and Juventus all lost on the same day, and those results mean that Napoli and Atalanta are top of the Serie A table for the international break.Conor and Euan are alone for this week's pod, as Kev is away (again) on holidays and Vito was unavailable. Matchday 6 of Serie A went a little bit wild, particularly on Sunday evening, and Salernitana will somehow have left Turin disappointed and elated with a point after their game against Juventus.Elsewhere, AC Milan, Inter, and Napoli all scraped wins on Saturday, and the Partenopei moved top of the table and above Atalanta as they slipped up at home to Cremonese in a very Atalanta result.Bologna beat Fiorentina in the Derby dell'Appennino and started life without Sinisa Mihajlovic well.To review it all, Conor Clancy is joined by Kev Pogorzelski and Vito Doria, with Euan Burns enjoying a holiday in Puglia, although he did pop in with a two-second appearance in the form of a voice note that Conor probably wasn't supposed to play.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/forzaitlianfootball. Rafael Leao led AC Milan to Derby della Madonnina success over Inter in Serie A Matchday 5, winning 3-2 having fallen behind, but that was by no means where the fun stopped. To chat through all of the action, Conor Clancy has Euan Burns, Kev Pogorzelski, and Vito Doria joining him on this week's pod.The Milan Derby, as it tends to, dominated the discussion. The guys then sent some love in Khvicha 'Kvaradona' Kvaratskhelia's direction (after Alasdair Mackenzie wrote so glowingly about him from the Olimpico on Saturday) and chatted AS Roma's collapse to lose 4-0 to Udinese. The rest of the games were discussed as well, though there were still three Monday night games to be played at the time of recording.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/forzaitlianfootball. Matchday 3 threw up some cracking games but, most of all, so many good goals. To chat through all of the weekend's action, Conor Clancy was joined by Euan Burns and, for the first time this season, Vito Doria.Vito returned just in time to talk through a humiliating 4-0 loss for Sampdoria against Salernitana, while Conor comes to you from Verona after Atalanta's win at the Bentegodi. The guys chat through a thrilling weekend of football, and are a little bit rushed with Matchday 4 coming to us as soon as Tuesday night. Thanks as ever for your continued support, there's plenty more content to come this week.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/forzaitlianfootball. Hosted on Acast. Serie A's Matchday 2 has come and gone, and unfortunately it went without as much excitement as we'd hope it would bring, with there being as many as six draw from the 10 games and four of them goalless.Atalanta held AC Milan in Bergamo in the weekend's big match, while Inter and AS Roma both picked up wins. Conor is back in the host's seat this week to inject some energy into the uninterested duo of Kev and Euan, with Vito set to return for the Matchday 3 pod.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/forzaitlianfootball. The 2022/23 Serie A season is officially underway, and all of the big boys got wins to open their respective campaigns. Inter, AC Milan, Lazio, Roma, Atalanta, and Fiorentina all picked up three points over the weekend, with some games still to be played on Monday night. As seems to be custom for the first and last pods of the season, the whole FIFpod team couldn’t make this one, so it’s just Kev and Euan talking you through the first matchday of the new campaign.Don't forget to subscribe on your preferred platform and, of course, leave us a review!Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/forzaitlianfootball. The 2021/22 season was exactly what we all hoped it would be, with everything going to the final day. Conor, Euan, and Vito are here to look back on the campaign that saw AC Milan crowned champions, Inter, Napoli, and Juventus reach the Champions League, and Genoa, Cagliari, and Venezia relegated to Serie B.The guys revealed their Teams of the Season, their highlights of the campaign, and their pre-season predictions as well.Forza Italian Football are now on Patreon, where you can sign up, give us your support and get the chance to have your questions answered on the pod, as well as being able to enjoy extra premium content.Don't forget to subscribe on your preferred platform and, of course, leave us a review!Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/forzaitlianfootball.
