I have learned more about God’s view of us, His children, in the 10 years I have been a dad than in the 30 years before. A turning point in David’s life came near the end when he paved the way for the next king, his son, Solomon.  David was able to appoint his successor and then graciously step aside and let him lead.   Key Points:        1.   David accepted his limitations.      2.   David announced his successor.      3.   David affirmed the vision for his successor.      4.   David arranged the transition well.      5.   David prayed for Solomon.      6.   David stepped aside at the right time.  Support the show (https://centralnow.com/give/)

There are three scenes in the Bible where David deals with a man named Shimei.  Shimei really hurt David.  In these scenes, we learn about forgiving like we want God to forgive us. Key Points:   1. Scene #1: David refuses to strike back.               Text: 2 Samuel 16:5 – 13 2. Scene #2: David decides to forgive.                      Text: 2 Samuel 9:16 – 23 3. Scene #3: David decides to get even.                           Text: 1 Kings 2:8 – 10  4.
