I started boycotting since October. it was hard to find the products. but for the past few months my weekly shops have all been local, cheaper items. I did it for the Palestinians but the benefits have been great for our weekly budget. Also, I've noticed our supermarkets putting the local products on harder to reach shelves, eg. Pepsi on the middle shelf, but local made cola on the far bottom shelf. but we've started a Facebook community to encourage each other on products and it's been good.

Thanks to Professor Marandi. It was expressive, clear, human and stimulating. But I want to warn against drawing a justified picture of the Islamic Republic! We must not forget that it's a dictatorial theocracy. At least for the same reason that in Iran we can't watch EI livestreams on YouTube due to filtering, and we've to use VPN to listen to its podcast. Undoubtedly, you yourself have used VPN to talk with EI. And this was a point that you could mention to when you were talking about Iran

Question: are the stories about the morality police legit? I've always wondered about that.

I am REALLY surprised how such opinions still exist in "civilized countries". With the presence of all the press and publications, elites, social activists, long-standing social institutions, intellectuals in the specialized or general field, and all other things. How come we haven't made ANY progress since 1930?

The word "Palestine" burns the tongue. brings the taste of blood to your mouth. You can't think too much about it. You may go insane from despair and shame. I wonder when this spell will break? When will this hangover go away? so that _for god sake_ it name can be said without despondency

Being a tissue paper dancing above the flames... I hoped that there would never occur a genocide in my lifetime _Although it seems that when you survive for more than a certain time, you'll inevitably witness at least one. But I guess maybe the experience of being contemporary with this holocaust is more difficult than the other one. cos' we witnessed Poland under Nazi occupation, in a livestream show. And it feels like hanging in the air, powerless, useless, and yet, guilty and ashamed.

In a video, I saw an old man from Gaza, who said, "I am proud to be from Gaza and my head is high. Because all the oppressors of the world are standing against Gaza today." This seemed ridiculous from a distance. What virtue is there in suffering? I don't believe in another world and holy ideals and things like that. But the words of the old man are completely meaningful for me in one way:

I don't know if it is against the exaggerated malice of some Israelis - who seem to have come straight out of the darkest pages of history - or something else, that sometimes the behavior of the people of Gaza seems strangely virtuous to me. Unfortunately, I have never seen a single Gazan up close. But the morality of people in some videos always affects me. A kind of patience, dignity, humility, kindness, and sometimes moral greatness.

I felt a lot of closeness and empathy with Ahmed. I feel that we are similar in some ways and I could hear resonances of familiarity in his voice. For me, in relation to Palestine it is a heartache that I live in a country where there is no possibility of expressing sympathy in the public arena. Not because of censorship, but because of the vulgarization of the meaning of supporting Palestine in the interpretation of the government and the official media.

The Palestine scar is as much old as I guess it may never will be cure. What can they do with generations of jewish people that they born and grow up in occupied land? what kind of victory we can imagine for Palestinian people? Israel has been a concentrated center of crime, violation of laws, lies, discrimination, apartheid and a place of ridicule for all the moral and legal achievements of modern civilization. And this has been tolerated and supported for nearly a hundred years.

I'm listening to this episode on October 30th, when according to the latest news about 8,000 people have been killed in Gaza. That means there were about 3,000 people still alive when this episode was recorded. This makes me ask myself, why am I living in such a world? for what? When everything that humans have built over generations, decades, and centuries is suddenly and foolishly destroyed. It is disappointing.
